I recently upgraded my Verizon Home Depot plan, which came with a newer, more modern device. Everything works fine, but I’ve run into this small, annoying little issue. Every single time I reopen Google Chrome and try to visit a website, it takes forever to actually load the page. While it's loading, the bottom left corner says "Downloading proxy script." Once it finally finishes, the internet is perfectly fine and everything runs smoothly. It's just that initial connection that drags on—sometimes taking up to thirty seconds. If I close Google Chrome and restart it, the whole process repeats, though if I just leave the browser open, there's no problem at all. My ping is solid, and both download and upload speeds are great. It isn't a total dealbreaker, but it's irritating, and I'd love to fix it if possible. 🙂

just go into your Chrome settings and DISABLE

Use a web service to help troubleshoot navigation errors

Use prediction services to autocomplete searches and URLs typed in the address bar or search box

Pre-load web pages for faster browsing performance

Send suspicious downloads to Google

Help prevent identity theft and malicious software

Use a web service to help with spell checking

Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports to Google

Send a "Do Not Track" request with your browsing traffic

disable everything except number 3

Send a "Do Not Track" request along with your browsing traffic.

DISABLE everything except 3.

Should I DISABLE everything except this third one?

Anyway, I tried disabling everything to see if leaving just the third option would help, but no luck. Same load time 🙂

Look, just try this—make sure you DISABLE everything in Google Chrome first, then try THIS

I’ve got Amazon too—but honestly, I never ran into any issues like that with Microsoft Edge.
