I’m running into a real headache with this Seagate 2 TB Hard Drive I’ve been using as a multimedia player... It’s hooked up to my computer via USB, and everything seemed perfectly fine last night—I just turned on the radio to let some music play, and suddenly, the partition just vanished into thin air. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, and while macOS acknowledges the connection and it shows up in the Device Manager, it’s completely invisible in Disk Management. The drive itself seems to be spinning normally without any weird clicking or grinding noises, but I’ve had issues before where the partition would just disappear, though I usually managed to fix it using Norton... except now, even Norton can't see it. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? Should I try swapping out the external enclosure or something else entirely? This is pretty urgent since I'm currently traveling through South Korea and really need to get this sorted out...

Maybe try plugging it into a different computer just to see if you’re still running into the same headache. You really ought to rule out the basics first—like checking the cables, the USB port, or the power adapter—to make sure one of those isn't actually the culprit here.

I pulled it out of the tower and hooked it up to another machine, and it shows up perfectly fine in the BIOS... I tried checking it within macOS since we’re stuck with just these three D3 workstations here, and there aren't any extra SATA cables lying around to play with, but when I try it on my laptop, the BIOS doesn't even recognize it, even though it used to work flawlessly before... I ended up ordering a brand new case because it's pretty obvious the current one is the root of all this trouble, especially since it was plugged into the laptop non-stop, and whenever things weren't running right
