Politics doesn't belong on ZK - remove the thread about the Men and Women's Community

Every single time I check this thread, it’s nothing but endless trolling, bans, moderator warnings, Tito, Christmas, Jesus, religion, and all those religious arguments...

It honestly feels like this topic just melts people's brains, and if you ask me, we should probably just lock this thing down or delete it entirely.

The real issue here is that this specific topic keeps popping up across a huge variety of different PDF threads on the forum.
It’s clearly a calculated attempt at ideological propaganda, spreading it across as many different corners of the site as possible.
Of course, all these kinds of threads really ought to be scrubbed from the boards. Politics belongs strictly within the Politics section, period. But we all know that won't happen—because if they actually cleaned it up, they wouldn't be able to push their agenda anymore.

Lest we somehow fall into the trap of believing this is actually a pressing contemporary issue regarding fundamental human liberties—liberties that ought to extend to all segments of society, including the rights and agency of women.

But does that mean she belongs on various subreddits, just like any other major current issue? Of course not.

There are plenty of other factors at play. The topic itself is excessive and, frankly, it’s proven to trigger unnecessary conflict and division. Plus, the moderators on different forums—including ZK—are chosen (as Nica herself pointed out) without any real proof that they actually understand American politics. There’s a high chance they aren't even equipped to moderate discussions of this caliber.

They aren't even from the Politics section, but that's a whole different conversation.

Why would we move this thread? 🤷
It’s relevant, and honestly, it’s hitting people from every direction right now, so why wouldn't it belong here on ZK?
Sure, everyone has an opinion and people are split—that’s just how it works. It’s the same thing you see in food criticism, professional sports, or high fashion. You get into a debate, some folks who get a little too heated head for the exits, while those who can handle the heat stay put. I don't see the issue. 🤷

I'm with Hannah Thomas18 on this one—no idea why we're even talking about moving the thread. I don't post a ton, but honestly, I'd much rather hang out in this section of ZK than over in Politics. ZK is basically a giant melting pot for everything anyway; if you started scattering all these topics into other subforums, there wouldn't be much left worth reading here.

Wait, didn't the mods just recently post on PZK saying there was already an old, standing rule against discussing politics on ZK? That was back when they were setting up some of the newer guidelines, right?😉

The thread was opened ages ago (if I recall right, it was even pulled from the misterij section), so moving it now wouldn't really make any sense. Politics is off-limits—meaning you can't go in on Democrats vs. Republicans, Biden, Trump, or anyone else from the old school parties—but talking about gay rights is fair game. Besides, this whole referendum thing started with a group of regular people, not as some calculated political move. To me, there's a massive difference between commenting on what a politician did and discussing this topic.🤷.

So, according to what the admin said, the phrase "It's not the gays' fault your life sucks" doesn't actually count as an insult...

Which really makes me wonder, could I just go ahead and add this to my profile signature: "It's not the national referendum's fault your life sucks."

I would truly appreciate an answer on that whenever someone has a moment...

Look, I’m not trying to be offensive here, but like I mentioned to the user who originally posted it, it definitely comes across as trolling. On JLL, we tend to be a lot more laid-back about trolling compared to most other subreddits or forums out there. In a lot of other online communities, a post like that would have gotten you instantly banned.

Moving back to the topic at hand: this thread is staying up on JLL for now.
