Wait, so you actually want him walking around smelling like some cheap drugstore scent?

It’s handmade! Honestly, what’s wrong with a gift like that? Does he really need her to go out and buy something else when she can just make it herself?

Tommy Hilfiger - 1962 (1 oz) at Walmart, $37. It’s a decent scent. 😉

I'd say just pick up something small. ☕

That is way beyond $33. Honestly, that’s just too much for someone you barely even know—like, if we're talking about a brand new relationship? If a gift hits that number right out of the gate, I’m out the door!

I used to be the type who would go out of my way to buy gifts even for people I wasn't dating. 🤣

In most cases, your dilemma isn't really about "if" you should give something, but rather "what." Choosing the right gift is arguably one of the most complicated tasks in the universe... You rarely know enough about someone to get it perfectly right—which sounds pretentious, I know—but if you just wander into a gift shop and grab something random, you’ll come off as condescending or, at the very least, completely uninterested. Ideally, it should be something inexpensive and straightforward, yet not so generic that it feels hollow. Out of the suggestions floating around here, the idea of a blowjob paired with a bottle of Southern Comfort sounds best to me, though who knows what his specific value system looks like? A book, tickets to a hockey game (or maybe football), a CD (or a vinyl record, if he’s sophisticated enough), a Bialetti Moka pot (assuming he doesn't still live with his parents), a finger in the ass (if he isn't too uptight), concert tickets, a nice dinner, or even a ping-pong paddle... In any case, you should probably check with his brother to see what he actually enjoys.

William Bennett53 said:Honestly—out of all the suggestions we’ve heard so far—nothing sounds quite as appealing to me as a little oral attention paired with a bottle of Southern Comfort.

I say he should just offer her his "peach" instead—as a gift, if you will. Truly, there is a genuine possibility that she would find the experience absolutely unforgettable. Why bother with such limitations? 🙂

Yes, perhaps I should have specified a *good* blowjob rather than just a blowjob. After all, it is only truly successful if she finds pleasure in it too.

In any case, I suggested several other options; he can always just buy her a book. 😁

Honestly, I think everyone’s just being way too extra. Look, I get it—you should do *something*—but I don't see the big deal with just grabbing some candy or hitting up a movie theater. At the end of the day, it’s about showing you actually gave a damn and remembered. If the relationship actually lasts, you'll have plenty of chances down the road to go all out with those massive, over-the-top gifts that totally miss the point of a "little something."

I think we’re talking past one another here. 😬
What I am actually suggesting—since everyone seems so eager to offer these wonderful little ideas—is why shouldn't she just give him a peach instead?
There is, after all, a distinct possibility that she might reach a climax herself. image
But in general terms, I did suggest other options; he could always just buy her a book. 😁

Now, to be perfectly serious. If it were my birthday—and we are talking about a relationship that is only a week old at this point—I would much prefer a book, a vinyl record, or perhaps tickets to a show. Honestly, those would be far superior to Shakespeare. 😳

Kate Jackson6 said:Man, those guys selling stuff out of makeshift stalls at the local farmers market... honestly, what even is that? lol :p

🤣

That’s it! Seriously, that is absolutely perfect! I can't believe I didn't even think of them myself... how did that totally slip my mind like that?!... 🤣

Larry Wilson25 said:Ugh, seriously though... would you actually want your man walking around smelling like some super cheap, drugstore perfume? Like, I can't even imagine... it just feels so wrong, right?

I mean, seriously, what is even wrong with a handmade gift? Like, what's actually missing from that? Does someone really need to go out and buy stuff when you can just put your own heart and soul into something with your own two hands... honestly, why do people act like you need to spend a fortune at a big department store like Walmart just to show you care?

Of course... ☕ That’s exactly why I’m planning on just grabbing a bottle of perfume at the mall... honestly, it’s way easier than dealing with all this other stuff... 🥳

Honestly, there isn't a single thing missing from that gift... it’s just perfect exactly as it is... 😁

Sam Nelson8 said:So I was browsing through some stuff at Walmart the other day and stumbled upon this vintage Tom Tailor scent from back in '62... you know, just one of those little 30 ml bottles that takes you way back... and man, it really makes you wonder how much things have changed since then... $37Honestly, it’s a pretty solid fragrance... definitely hits the mark if you're looking for something reliable... 😉

I honestly feel like you should just go ahead and pick up some little something... maybe grab a coffee or something small while you're at it... ☕

I haven't actually caught a whiff of that perfume yet, so I can't really give you my two cents on it... 😁

I totally get where you're coming from, like, I really do... I honestly think it would be way better to just grab some little something else instead of going all out with a perfume or anything like that... maybe something more subtle, you know?

I mean, if they’ve already been talking this much and things are clearly starting to move in that direction, she should definitely be able to come up with some little something to make him smile... just a tiny gesture to show she's thinking of him, you know? It doesn't even have to be anything huge, just something sweet and thoughtful to keep that spark going while they're still in that early, fluttery stage... 😁

Just as an example, I remember being in a super similar spot once and I ended up getting this guy a little die-cast Mini Cooper toy... he was just absolutely obsessed with those classic Mini Morris cars and had been talking about finding one forever, so I figured, hey, if he can't get his hands on a real one just yet, at least he can have it sitting on his shelf as a little tribute to his dream car... it’s the little things, you know? 😁
Honestly, that just feels way more meaningful to me than just picking out some random perfume... like, why bother spending fifty bucks on a scent he might actually hate when you could get him something small that really hits home? To me, a little thoughtful gesture like that carries so much more weight than some expensive bottle of cologne that might end up sitting on his shelf because it's not his style... it's all about that personal touch, you know? 😬

What's wrong with something like that—maybe even something secondhand. 🤣

It doesn't even have to be perfume; it just feels right for that age group. I'm not being $33 specific about it—just speaking generally.

🤣

Give me a break—sometimes they actually know their stuff better (not just with perfumes, but other things too) than those insanely expensive brands. I don't shop at places like that often, but I've heard plenty of stories.

Kevin Rivera89 said:I mean, what’s the big deal? Honestly, if you grab something pre-owned, who cares... it's practically the same thing... 🤣

I mean, honestly, it doesn't even have to be a perfume or anything specific like that... it just feels like the right vibe for someone that age, you know? It’s not even really about the scent itself, more like just an overall feeling that fits perfectly... $33 It’s hard to pin down an exact number, really... it’s more like, you know, just somewhere in that general ballpark...

I don't know about you guys, but whenever someone hands me a bottle of perfume as a gift, I just... I can't deal with it, honestly... It feels so incredibly impersonal, like they just grabbed the first shiny thing they saw on a shelf at Macy's without even thinking about who I actually am... It’s such a weirdly intimate thing to give someone when you don't really *know* their vibe, you know? Like, scent is so tied to your soul and everything, so if they pick something that doesn't fit me, it just feels like they aren't really seeing me at all... anyway, just my two cents... 🤷 I mean, honestly, it’s only really a solid move if you actually know exactly which scent that person is obsessed with... like, if you know their signature fragrance down to the last note, then yeah, it's a killer gift, but otherwise... it's kind of a gamble, you know? 😁

Honestly, any gift works—it’s the thought that counts. But if they actually know what you like, it's always better to get something specific. Personally, I wouldn't complain about receiving anything at all, as long as it comes from someone I care about. 😍

Of course he deserves a little something, but let’s not jump straight to an expensive designer cologne. You’re still in the early stages of dating, and honestly, who knows if he’ll even like the scent? It might be smarter to just surprise him with a great dinner at home—cook his absolute favorite meal and pair it with a small, thoughtful gift. And don't forget dessert, obviously. If you know what I mean. 😬

I found myself in a similar spot recently. On top of everything else, she had just graduated. I was completely stumped on what to get her. Early on in our relationship, we’d talked about traveling, and she mentioned how much she wanted to see Venice. It didn't take much soul-searching. I booked us a day trip to Venice, and honestly, it turned out flawlessly. 🙂
Besides, it wasn't even that pricey. About the same as grabbing a nice bottle of designer cologne.

Why does everyone suggest sex as a gift? 🤣 I mean, sex is just part of everyday life—so then you get it for your birthday too? It's kind of a letdown...
I can already hear them bragging to their buddies about what they got... "Man, I can't wait for my next birthday, my girl is gonna hook me up again."

Given that they're still in that honeymoon phase where everything feels effortless because of all the passion, I doubt she'd find it too hard to pull off. Though, honestly, she could always step it up a notch and spoil him a little—maybe set the mood with a candlelit bath for two. There are a million ways to make him feel special. 😉
Oh, and a sensual massage just crossed my mind.

Probably because they just learned how to walk and haven't tripped over their own feet yet?

Sex is a classic for a reason. 😁

If he's got any brains, he won't go around telling people they only do it once a year. 🤣

Sex is always a win. 😁

If they've got any sense, they aren't going to go around bragging about only hooking up once a year. 🤣

Personally, I don't view sex as some kind of gift—unless we're talking about two women showing up just for my birthday...
