How do I go about doing that? It’s some shoes that someone else has already worn.
I did a little digging online and saw there are various sprays out there, but I haven't been able to find anything on a local website.
Does anyone know if there's a specific spray like that available for purchase here in the States?

My apologies, mods—I wasn't sure which subforum this belonged in. Feel free to move it elsewhere if necessary.

Does anyone know if there's a specific spray for this kind of thing available at a CVS or Walgreens or something?

Hey mods, my bad—didn't really know which sub this belonged in, so feel free to move it wherever it makes sense.

Wait, what's making you think those shoes are actually contaminated?

Was it worn by someone who's dealing with a known foot infection, or were they just being worn in somewhere potentially—or definitely—unhygienic? 🤔

I just stay away from them -> better safe than sorry... I suppose that's reason enough for me. ☕

Yeah, I'm with you there.
Keeping things hygienic is honestly half the battle. 👍

The move here is to grab your shoes, pull out the insoles if they aren't glued in, toss them in the wash with some laundry detergent, and let them dry completely.
If the shoes themselves can handle a bit of a scrub with a brush and some soap—go for it, give them a good cleaning.
Just make sure they are bone dry first.
Once they're dry, go to a CVS or Walgreens and pick up some antifungal powder; shake that all over the inside of the shoe and just let that sit for a few days.
After maybe two or three weeks, shake out the excess powder and hit them with a specialized deodorizing spray from somewhere like Target or a local drugstore...

And voila, your shoes are basically brand new again.
