If Meadow, given her role in the religion section, isn't capable of moderating—whether she’s allergic to anything that isn't atheism and anti-Catholicism, lacks any grasp of Christian rhetoric, or just has underlying political agendas—then her lightning-fast closure of the thread presidential candidates and Spirit of Reason

- I honestly don't know what to make of this Forum for keeping her on as a moderator for religion topics

It feels like whenever I start a discussion that isn't strictly pro-witchcraft or pro-atheism—anything outside of secular thought—she shuts it down immediately. Before that even happens, wearyowl29 tries to undermine and provoke me, much like 'Srijanka' Dalaj Sanja and that little communist agitator, both of whom I responded to quite politely in the spirit of the discussion

It’s truly pathetic for an American forum, and for you anarchist activists who seemingly hate America and, I guarantee, never actually want to build anything constructive. Instead of complaining or engaging in endless, fruitless whining, they've chosen to tear down everything with life in it while fighting for things that don't even exist

Their attempt to artificially balance things against the very real needs of us Catholics is nothing short of criminal

But I suppose they'll just rush to clone some Catholic persona now; it's terrifying

As far as I can tell, Meadow treats moderation like a mere job to be performed according to her own whims, which causes the entire Forum to lose its purpose as an open public medium. Instead, it turns into a playground for those who hate America, allowed to disrupt everything because they have the floor

It’s sad (for the Forum, I suppose, not necessarily for me) that I don't believe anyone here would take a stand, other than coldly telling me to stay away from the site if I don't like how things are run

sick!

And look, I understand if nobody here has any empathy for why I'm so bitter

Since I moderate the religion section, I want to say I’m fully on board with my colleague's decision; if I had caught it sooner, I would have handled it the exact same way.
Basically, there's an entire dedicated sub-section under politics regarding the presidential elections, plus a thread about last night's debate and separate ones for the individual candidates.
In my view, those are much more appropriate places to debate the candidates and the debates themselves, even from a Christian perspective.

Neither you, rowdytiger13, nor Meadow have the slightest clue how to moderate the religion topic PDF properly.

The religion topic in question isn't about presidential candidates clashing. Neither you nor Meadow seem capable of grasping—or even caring to understand—what the actual subject is here.

Could you do me a favor and help me find some other American forums? I’m honestly starting to feel traumatized being on this forum among all you clones.

I need an American forum where I can actually express my views and enjoy socializing with people who possess genuine goodwill.

@ wearyowl29
I didn't get a chance to reply to you before the thread was hastily locked, but I disagree with the idea that in America, only those who get drunk have joyful hearts. That's not quite the point; there are plenty of others, and it stems from what truly resides in their souls, which lasts much longer than the Spirit of Reason.

The other night, I was on the phone with the mother of my late best friend from my school days—she passed away a year ago, and her husband just passed away a few days ago—and she reached the same conclusion: a joyful heart is one filled with God's love.

That was the subject at hand, not the candidates. They were merely the trigger for the reflections that led me to open thistopic, which you all aren't even worthy of discussing.

Well, since I've been called out, I suppose I have to say something.
This isn't really the right place for this kind of debate, so you could have just sent me a private message if you wanted to chat.

I'm not going to argue here because, honestly, we missed the mark on the religion topic entirely. It might have worked under spirituality [ about New Age-ism] if it had been framed differently, but as it stands, it just looks like electioneering.

I've been part of this community for over twelve years now. I've had various threads removed before, but I have never once thought to tell other members that they aren't WORTHY of a deleted post.🙂

How can written words ever be more dignified than we are ourselves?👎

Lisa Morales4 Asks:

It seems that no matter what topic I bring up, it always circles back to pro-witchcraft, pro-atheism, or anything else that isn't strictly Catholic thought. She would probably try to shut it down, but wearyowl29 would likely spend all that time trying to trip me up and provoke me first—just like Srijanka Dalaj Sanja and that little communist agitator. I’ve already given them all a polite response in the spirit of the discussion.

It’s honestly pathetic to see what this American forum has become, along with all you anarchist activists who seem to despise this country. I guarantee you'll never actually build anything constructive. Instead of constant whining and centuries of useless complaining, you choose to tear down everything that has life in it, all while fighting for things that don't even exist.

Their attempt to artificially balance things against our actual needs as Catholics is nothing short of criminal. It is an absolute crime.

But now they’ll probably go ahead and clone some Catholic just like that. Absolutely terrifying.

It seems that Meadow treats moderation more like a full-time career than a service, which essentially strips this Forum of its purpose as an open public medium. Instead, it’s being reduced to nothing more than a playground for people who just want to vent their hatred toward America by attacking her whenever they get the chance.

It’s honestly quite sad—and I don't mean just my opinion, but rather the general consensus on this Forum—that nobody here seems willing to actually take a stand. Instead, everyone just coldly tells me to stay away from the community if I'm unhappy with things.

That's incredible!

I suppose I can't expect anyone here to have any empathy for my frustration.

Well, you’ve said it all yourself, and I think everything is perfectly clear now.🙂 🙂

And let's not forget that other incredibly active thread—you know the one, I won't even mention its name—where they basically "recruited" the new moderator for the Religion section.

It took nearly a decade for us to finally launch a dedicated sub-forum focused on serious theological inquiries and established religions. This was quite a contrast to the Spirituality [about New Age-ism] section, which remained largely inactive and marginal after being separated from the main Religion board just a few months after the initial request.

On another note, since we’re already discussing it—regarding that whole "witchcraft" trend you mentioned—shouldn't these kinds of topics be moved over to the Spirituality section? That’s exactly why it was established as its own category in the first place, right? Or perhaps they belong in the Alternative section instead? AlternativeJust a passing thought...

Greetings, Lisa Morales4.

Then I assume you'll be consistent and move all the topics dealing with the Alternative—including that thread on Satanism you were active in, which has nothing to do with mainstream world religions—over to the Alternative or Spirituality sub-forums.

What happened there? Why were those topics even in this section to begin with?

This entire thread is so utterly pointless that it shouldn't have just been closed; it should have been moved straight to the Trash bin.

Furthermore, I personally believe that preventing the misuse of God for such cheap attempts at political grandstanding is actually a moderator move intended to benefit believers rather than serve as a litmus test.

Lisa Morales4,
I’ve been spending way more time over on the Politics board lately because it's actually interesting. Honestly, I’ve felt totally fine talking about how faith plays into our political and social lives there.

Nobody’s breathed a word against me, and I haven't dealt with any warnings or penalties for it either.

When it comes to heavy political stuff, it's much better to post on the Politics board than the Religion one. If you do want to talk about it under Religion, you should probably stick to the Vatican II section—you know, "signs of the times," maybe Church Social Teaching or encyclicals... basically, you can still dive into prophecy and God's Word being channeled through people using a biblical lens.

It's a big topic, but if we try to tie it to this current presidential election, it feels pretty small compared to God's actual plan for salvation. The election is just a tiny flash in the pan that wraps up Sunday night.

Lately, society is pushing secularization so hard—call it secularism if you want—just to make it harder to link what's happening in politics to the concept of Truth.

You're free to post about that on the Politics board; you just have to watch your wording.

The real trick is learning how to adjust your vocabulary so you can say exactly what's on your mind—keeping it subtle and symbolic—without backing down even an inch. 🙂

So, is the solution to just move over to an entirely different section? 😁 Because why should the Alternative (thematically) take up three or four sub-forums on Alternative, an entire sub-forum under Spirituality, and now the Religion section too??

We've already witnessed a literal "purge" of Catholics from the Religion section, and we've seen mass exits from Muslims there several times over the last few years—what's next? 😉 And TT, is it even "your type" to post on Politics? (Actually, none of us really are, but still...) For many coming from Religion, Politics is more or less an irrelevant section, wouldn't you agree? Plus, the quality of discussion isn't exactly at the level we used to have on RE, as you probably know yourself.😉

Of course, fascism and antisemitism pop up on the religion PDF every now and then. But we clean that stuff out regularly. 👍

Hate speech isn't welcome here, not even back in 2015.

I feel we have exhausted this subject entirely, and I would prefer to step away rather than descend into pointless bickering.
