Planet of the Apes (2001)

I didn't get why critics were hating on this movie so much or why its IMDb score was so low while I was watching it, but then that ending hits and 😕😕😕. Can someone please explain what the hell just happened???

The movie was a total washout back in the day
They cast some random model as the lead—which, honestly, added zero depth to the series
this new version is definitely an upgrade 😁

Regarding how things wrapped up, I seem to recall Lincoln being in the capital—was he a monkey or something? 😁 Whatever, it doesn't really matter 😁 since they never made any sequels and the whole thing just flopped... hardly anyone mentions it online anymore 😁

So, after catching those newer entries and then circling back to the original, I figured I might as well dive into this remake too.

Long story short—it’s just okay. It’s decent enough if you're just looking to kill some time once in your life, but that's about it. My rating: 3/10.

Man, that original blew me away; it was absolutely incredible and it's definitely sitting somewhere in my top 20 Sci-Fi films, I just need to figure out its exact ranking.
While I thought the two recent ones were pretty solid, this remake? Yeah, it's kind of a letdown.

Alright, let me break down that ending for you:

The finale is just as mindless as the rest of the flick 🙂 👍

But here’s the part that isn't funny—though if it weren't so ridiculous, it would actually be pathetic—and that is how the director tries to act like he's being deep with that ending 🙂 give me a break...

Honestly, I can barely even remember him anymore...

That girl in the movie was such a massive star back then. She was on every single magazine cover and plastered on every teenage boy's bedroom wall, and now? It’s like she just vanished from everyone's memory.

Honestly, I can’t believe how much Tim Burton, Mark Wahlberg, and HBC completely blew it with this one. Like, seriously, they really didn't need to go there, did they?
