How am I supposed to plant these bacteria? Hunting season just kicked off 😁

(The stuff above sounds pretty twisted 😬 )

Followed one yesterday: it flies close, "sniffs" me, then just leaves. No bite attempt.
Not a single bite all season, despite being outside near the woods constantly.

Any idea why these bloodsuckers would avoid me?

Wrong subforum, my bad...

That’s actually pretty creepy. Poor you.

Same here, also A+. I could probably make a living as a mosquito magnet. One summer, back when I was a kid, I had 88 bites at once.

My mom doesn't get bitten at all. She's type O. Probably doesn't have anything to do with blood type though...

....

Why the negative vibes, though?

It’s not even an issue, really; I'm just genuinely curious about the reasoning behind it.

Not a problem, really. Just wondering why...

It’s not about being negative. It’s just that this sub is filled with people losing family members, dealing with chronic pain for years, struggling to get a diagnosis, or fighting over the cost of meds. And then you pop up in the middle of all that misery with—"mosquitoes won't bite me." Doesn't feel exactly appropriate...

The mosquitoes aren't biting because you got lucky. I doubt there's some groundbreaking scientific study explaining it, but if there is, you'll find it on Google much faster than here. If you're actually curious, do the legwork and let us know what you find...

Look, you don't need some massive, world-ending crisis just to start a thread here... so before this whole conversation spirals out of control into a total meltdown, everyone just... chill 🙂 thanks

For those of you who enjoy a good deep dive, here’s a little bit from some technical literature

The part that actually caught me off guard was seeing that citronella and eucalyptus oils are banned as repellents within the USA. I’m going to have to look into whether we'll be allowed to sell those types of products here once all the new regulations kick in.

Until then, I need to dig into the actual reasons why they're against them.

By the way, blood type doesn't really factor into this at all.

My family is O+, and honestly, mosquitoes just feast on them.
They’re always sweating and running hot...😁 so the bugs definitely prefer them over me.
