Please just ban me permanently.

Hey there,
I’m not sure if this is even allowed, but I wanted to ask if a moderator could just... permanently ban me? Honestly, I've become a total nuisance to myself. This forum has basically just turned into my playground for messing around, and I rarely ever post anything actually meaningful. It wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't eating up so much of my free time, you know? So, if it's possible, I’d really appreciate it if you guys could just delete my account for good. I’ll probably still pop in once in a while just to lurk and read some threads, but it'll be way easier to stay focused when I don't have an account to distract me. For all those reasons, I’d really love it if you could grant me this request.

Since you mentioned you aren't really here for serious discussions anyway and are mostly just passing time, I figured it wouldn't be too hard to just hit the log out button. Personally, I find that's the easiest way to step away when I don't feel like being active. 😁

Just a quick heads-up for everyone: we aren't handing out permanent bans on request anymore. Honestly, if you're looking to step away, you can just log out—once you're logged out, you won't be able to post anything anyway.

Parental control, plus some random passcode. That was my go-to move whenever sheer willpower just wasn't cutting it. 😁

Just swap out your email—maybe use a burner address—and change your login password to something incredibly long and impossible to memorize.

Save those changes in the control panel, log out, and you're all set.

Since you won't know the password—and you won't be able to receive a reset link at that dummy email—you effectively lock yourself out for good. 🤷

I mean, I have no clue how you'd even get back in once you've locked yourself out since you won't know the password, and you can't exactly send a "reset" link to an email you don't recognize.🤷

You’ll be able to read everything and access the clone account just fine. Take my word for it. 😁 I tried that exact approach once, and I ended up spiraling down rabbit holes on subreddits I didn't even know existed. Honestly, those threads were way more captivating than the midterm exam I had scheduled for the following morning. 😁
