Songs about greed

In my opinion, the ultimate anthem regarding greed has to be Dylan's "Masters of War." It’s nowhere to be found on YouTube—oddly enough. As for Vedder's version? It's just amateur hour.
Perhaps Dylan's angriest letters ever written.
...Let me ask you one question—
is Your money that good will IT buy you forgiveness do you think that IT could i think you will find When Your death takes its toll All The money you made will never buy Back Your Soul
is Your money that good will IT buy you forgiveness do you think that IT could i think you will find When Your death takes its toll All The money you made will never buy Back Your Soul
Do you think that it could?
I think you will find

and i Hopa that you die and Your death'll Come soon i will follow Your casket in The paliti afternoon and I'll watch while you're lowered down to Your deathbed and I'll

Money Talks
"Money Talks, it'll tell you a Story
Money talks, says strange things
Money talks very loudly
You'd be surprised The friends
You can buy with Small Change
They say it's The root of All evil
They say Gold is The King
Money talks, you'd better believe it
All that Gold don't mean a thing
Rich People , hear those pockets jingl spariti Change , hear The down-and-outers cry Money talks
Spare change, hear the down-and-outers cry
Money talks, tip-toe up behind you
Steal What They Can , OFF The cuff or on The sly
Off the cuff or on The sly
Money talks
Money talks
Money talks
Money talks..."

Ry Cooder’s track about a pig called J. Edgar.
Try swapping out J. Edgar in these lyrics for any pig you want:
Down on the farm we had a pig, J. Edgar was his name
He’d gobble up every bit of food we had and then just start over again
Just like them vacuum cleaners They sell down in The lan Well
Well, that’s how J. Edgar Hoover got his name
Anyway, Momma baked a cherry pie and left it out to cool
Thinking we’d have a decent snack after getting home from school
But J. Edgar hopped up on the porch and polished off the whole thing
By the time we walked in that morning, all we could hear was Momma crying
J. Edgar, J. Edgar, look at the mess you've made
You devoured the cherry pie meant for the whole family
We survived the dust storms and the locusts, too
But God help us, J. Edgar, because nothing is safe when you're around
We had this extra hand named Bob who wouldn't lift a finger
He spent his time drinking cheap moonshine—always ended up sick
We headed to church on Sunday and hung out in town for a bit
By the time we got back for supper, poor Bob had vanished without a trace
He wasn't in the living room, and he wasn't out by the road
Not hiding in the pantry or sleeping in the hay, either
Even his favorite hat was sitting right there in the pigpen
Guess poor Bob won't be nursing that moonshine anymore
J. Edgar, J. Edgar, it just doesn't feel right
You went and ate Bob, our hired hand, while we were away at prayer
Let's say a prayer for old Bob, and for the US, too
God help us J. Edgar, nobody's safe from you

I suppose the whole Dark Side of the Moon album is actually just about human greed.

Now, let's switch gears a little bit. Something old, yet absolutely timeless. This is basically required listening for any true music lover.

Penthouse Pauper
Look, if I were out there laying bricks,
I wouldn’t just slap some mortar together;
And if I were playing ball,
There’s no way I’m sitting on the bench.
And if I were some kind of jewelry, honey;
Man, I’d gotta be a diamond ring.
If I were a secret, I’d take it to the grave.
If I were a bottle of bourbon, I’d be the good stuff, aged right.
I could be pretty much whatever,
But it’s gotta be pure, twenty-four karat gold.
If I were hitting the tables, you know I’d never bust.
And if I were a guitar player,
God, I’d definitely be playing the blues.

If I was a hacksaw, my blade would be lethal.
If I were a politician, I could swear up and down that monkeys talk.
You see those skyscrapers?
I’d be living in the penthouse at the top of the tallest one.
Alright, let’s get it!
Keep that rhythm going!
I’m just a penthouse pauper;
Got absolutely nothing to show for it.
I’m the penthouse pauper; listen, baby,
I don’t have a dime to my name.
I could be anybody, really,
'Cause when you're broke, nothing matters anyway.
Come on, let’s roll with this one!
Man, check out my view from this penthouse.
