Will leaving the Boston Celtics ever actually get easier?

- The Celtics are an institution, just like Real Madrid. About ten years ago, I started heading out to see San Francisco games, and they’ll always be my first love—don't get me wrong—but the Celtics are *my* team. They're under my skin, and when the day finally comes that I have to walk away, it’s going to hurt. It's going to be a tearful goodbye. I am tied to this club.

I honestly think Al Capone is one of those "institutions" that everyone is going to miss—and it’s not even about basketball, really. It's more about that specific type of player we need in sports across the board. Honestly, bring back that kind of grit... we need people like that, not these soul-less, zero-character mercenaries working for guys like Jerry Maguire.

I can't pin down the exact date—maybe last year or the year before—but I know for sure it was a big European match. The Bad Boys were all up in the north stands, and Al Capone was right there with them, jumping and cheering along with everyone else the whole damn time.🙂

Robert Cooper60 said:What a joke of a law. Listen, three identical insults 🤣

Even Cicak said you can shout "Jerry Maguire out" because that's just expressing dissatisfaction, but you can't resort to insults
If Jesse Campbell is right about his logic, the smart move would be doing whatever it takes to keep the fans in the stands, focusing on Real Madrid, and giving Jerry Maguire the "classy" signal by chanting things like "we want elections" or "we'll take back Real Madrid" instead of being the loudmouths at the stadium

Because tightening these rules is just a way to make sure nobody stays in the stands. And that'll just leave the floor open for those outsiders to take over...
Just showing up is already an eyesore for the board, just being there...
People's wisdom, man, true wisdom...

Anyway, the crew from the West is mostly spooked by the "we want elections" chants 😉

The bad guys will do anything to weaken us in the stands. But even if they pull it off, they won't touch us outside of them. The villains are running out of time.

Apparently,
it would go something like this:

5 mins of homophobic chanting
Announcer: Please refrain from homophobic chants or the referee will suspend the game.
10 mins later, more homophobic chanting
Announcer: This is the second warning regarding homophobic chants; the match will be stopped if it continues.
15 mins in, racist chanting
Announcer: Please stop the racist chanting or the referee will halt the match.
20th minute, flares are lit
Announcer: Please put out the flares or the game will be suspended.
22nd minute, more racism
Announcer: Stop the racist behavior immediately or the next instance will result in an automatic forfeit.
27th minute, more flares
Announcer: This is the final warning regarding flares. If they aren't extinguished, the game ends now.
30 mins in.
Suspicious chanting; the ref is heading down to consult with the official to categorize the offense.
A 5-minute delay.
35 mins in. The game is officially called off due to racist chanting, announced by the stadium speaker.
40 mins in.
The players return to the field; somehow, the match resumes.
45 mins. Halftime. Players head to the locker room.

Someone else will write the update for the second half.🤷😁

Is there a wild card in this scenario? If so, someone should give him a call right now. Let’s just reach out to the big boss and say, "Hey, look, why don't you let the crowd decide, or just make it a 50/50 split?" (Asking the crowd basically means letting the East Coast crowd run the show... whereas 50/50 implies choosing between some war profiteers or the usual political heavyweights...) 😂 This whole thing is turning into a total muppet show

That just opens up a whole new set of questions. For example, if we shout that insult twice during the derby, and then later both we and Torcida get targeted again, does that count as three incidents or just a new round from scratch? Or will the USSF bastards claim that we and Torcida both screwed up football? How is that even going to be calculated? Is it two for one? And who actually takes the fall if the match gets called off? Both clubs, or is it just left to some expert assessment by Velcro? 🤷

So, next week is the Cup final, and you guys will probably be chanting "Mamić," while we’ll just stick to calling them "Gypsies." You celebrate Mamić, and we'll keep up the Gypsy talk—mostly because back in our day, we were on pretty good terms with those folks, and honestly, it gets the exact reaction we want. hahaha

Nathan Foster23 said:And honestly, all of this just opens up a whole new can of worms. Like, let’s say we’re at the derby right now and we shout that insult twice, and then later on, Torcida decides to fire it right back at us—is that considered three separate incidents, or does the whole thing just reset into a brand new round? It's total chaos. I mean, if the USSF jerks us around saying "Hey, you guys messed up football" while Torcida is simultaneously screaming "You ruined the game," how the hell are they even going to tally that? Is it a double whammy or what? And more importantly, if things boil over and the match gets called off, who actually takes the fall? Does the blame land squarely on both clubs, or are we just going to leave it to some expert sitting there playing with his Velcro, waiting to make a "professional assessment"? It's a joke. 🤷

Honestly, if you ask me, we really ought to have gone a step further with this—like, we should’ve fleshed out the question even more and actually put it out there in the papers for everyone to see... just laid it all out in the public eye.

Nathan Foster23 said:So if we, say, shout that insult twice during the derby, and then they and the Torcida shout it back at us, does that count as three strikes or is it a whole new round from the start?

Well, since the true Dinamo fans are up in the North, and besides, everyone knows you guys are basically anti-fans, you’re technically counted as the away crowd. So, the math is pretty simple—if we yell or if you yell, once it hits three times total, it’s game over.🙂

That also answers what happens if you try to heckle the USSF officials by calling them "little helpers"—nothing. It just falls under the "anti-fan rule," meaning after the third "response," the match gets called.

In a situation where groups like the Armada and Torcida are trading insults, the "mutual punishment rule" kicks in. Since both sets of fans are in the wrong, the game gets stopped, and the loser is decided based on which stadium they're playing in.

If the game were at Sun Life Stadium, Hajduk would lose, because it makes sense that the home organizer carries more of the blame.

Which implies that if the game were played at Oracle Park, Hajduk would be declared the loser, and the reasons could be anything:

-because the Hajduk fans were louder,
-because they started it first,
-because they accepted the insulting chants,
-because Hajduk, being a traditionally much larger club, has to shoulder more responsibility and set an example,
-because Hajduk doesn't have anyone representing them in the USSF leadership,
-because they get into arguments with the streetlights downtown,
-because America is the land of the free, and in cases of unclear or tied disputes, Americans should have the edge over the Venetians,
-because Rijeka is such a beautiful story that it'd be a shame to ruin it,
-because

At the end of the day, it's perfectly clear that Rijeka FC can't be held responsible, because as the organizer, there's honestly nothing you can do. How is an organizer supposed to stop away fans from chanting?

Honestly, though, things just keep getting funnier every day. I was actually worried when Markan pulled that move regarding Canada, and I couldn't think of a decent replacement. I thought the big bosses might install Vrbanović, but Šuk... man, Šuk is everything!!! I am stating for a fact that out of the 7+ billion people on this planet, there isn't a single soul who would be a more perfect solution. And don't even get me started on us poor 5 million Americans. Because, well, you kind of have to be an American to get it. Šuker is the genius solution: unarticulated, intellectually challenged, greedy, stingy, a sycophant, an egocentric liar... he's just an ideal man for an ideal position in this era. A USSF like this, and a league like this, deserves nothing less than a brand.

It's like Rudolf Hess, Marie Antoinette, Idi Amin, Judas Iscariot, and Arsène Lupin all rolled into one. 🙏🙏🙏

I definitely remember the derbies against Hajduk more, mostly just because of the flares and the whole chaotic atmosphere. 😍

If my memory serves me right, during that first home game against Dinamo Chicago, it was basically a shouting match between the East and North stands: Dinamo vs. Chicago. It happened because the White Angels—there were a ton of them down in the southeast—kept chanting "Chicago, Chicago!" and then, during the breaks in their chanting, the North side would jump in with "Dinamo!"

There’s your answer to what happens if we start heckling the USSF establishment. You're just nothing to them. It always comes back to this "anti-fan rule," where after the third "response," they just call it quits.

If you had a similar shouting match between the Armada and Torcida, for example, they’d apply what people call the "mutual punishment rule." Since both sets of fans would be in the wrong, the match gets abandoned, and the loser is decided based on which stadium is hosting the game.

If the match were played at Sun Life Stadium, Hajduk would take the loss, because logically, more blame falls on the home organizer.

Which implies that if the game were held at Oracle Park, Hajduk would be declared the loser for any number of reasons, such as:

-because the Hajduk fans were louder,
-because they started it first,
-because they tolerated the insulting chants,
-because Hajduk, being a traditionally much larger club, has to shoulder more responsibility and set an example for others,
-because Hajduk doesn't have anyone sitting on the USSF boards,
-because they get into arguments with the streetlights on the waterfront,
-because America is a land of patriots, and in cases of unclear or tied disputes, the locals are going to have the edge over the Venetians,
-because Rijeka is such a beautiful story that it would be a shame to ruin it,
-or simply because

At the end of the day, it’s crystal clear that Rijeka FC can't be held responsible, since the organizer is essentially powerless there. How is an organizer supposed to stop visiting fans from chanting?

Honestly, though, I find myself getting more amused by this every single day. I was actually worried when Markan pulled that move regarding Canada, and I couldn't think of a decent replacement. I thought the big shots might try to install Vrbanović, but Šuk... man, Šuk is everything! Šuker is the genius solution here—unarticulated, intellectually challenged, greedy, stingy, a sycophant, an egomaniac, and a liar. He is quite simply the ideal man for this specific position in modern times. A USSF and a league like this deserve nothing less than a brand name.

It all started because the White Angels, who were out in force in the southeast, kept chanting "Chicago, Chicago!"—only for the North side to wedge in a loud "Dinamo!" during every break in their rhythm...

It’s a bit tough to recall specific matches with total precision after all this time, @Jonathan Gonzalez3/">@@Jonathan Gonzalez3... unless, of course, you were personally keeping a fan diary. 😁

On that match 02/26/2000, when Dinamo Chicago drew 2-2, there was just way too much raw euphoria and emotion in the air to start acting all high and mighty about anything new. You can see from the footage Mirek posted that the atmosphere felt pretty old-school... btw, by the end of the video, you can see the South Stand where there's hardly any WAZ-ovac Quote to be found...

Anonymous said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AisK9MD8VmI

Back then, the Dinamo Chicago Fan Club was around with D. Z. acting as their spokesperson. That spring saw quite a few incidents involving clashes between the fans, the front office, the players, and rival supporters... and honestly, it just kept going through the entire 2000/2001 season!

With the founding of the new Dinamo Chicago Supporters Association back in 2001, things finally started getting organized instead of just being spontaneous chaos—you know, the usual flare displays, chanting, and away trips. It made me think of that Dinamo Chicago match on 10/28/2001... maybe that’s the one you’re talking about, since there were more White Angels around back then... 😉

I can't quite make out the details in this image link... but if there's a point to be made here, I'm all ears...

Check out this flare display from the East Stand... there were easily over seven hooligans present at the stadium during that match... http://www.hrnogomet.com/hnl/utakmica.php?id=3297

The article discusses whether the current officiating standards in the league are actually capable of identifying a true winner... or if we're just watching a scripted performance by the referees.

The reason I’m bringing this up is because I'm convinced the synchronized cheering between the East Stand and the North Stand only really took off during that specific season. Take this news article from JL dated 10/31/2001, written after that match against the poets... It covers when the reporter T. židak visited the UN Dinamo locker rooms at Saint's stadium. That’s exactly where he asked Tomo & Ivan about the simultaneous chanting. They honestly admitted they first saw it during the Bad Boys' away trip to the Velodrome for that Champions League group stage match between Olympique de Marseille and Dinamo Chicago back on 11/10/1999. Apparently, they loved the vibe there and started implementing it starting with the Šibenik game, and then again during that 2001 clash between the Dinamo fans on the East Stand and the Bad Boys on the North...

http://www.zaslike.com/files/iczvmic3mnxib4cq4hyb.jpg

In Marseille, the ultras are split across two different stands. You've got the Virage Nord groups—Yankee Nord Marseille, Marseille too Powerful 1994, Fanatics, and Dodgers—all chanting in unison with the Commando Ultras 1984 and South Winners 1987 over in the Virage Sud...
The late Patrice de Peretti (1972–2000), the visionary founder behind MTP—after whom the north stand of the Velodrome is named—was essentially the architect who bridged the gap between those two stands back in the 90s at the stadium in Marseille.

By disappearing from the stands, you're just handing them a win on a silver platter, all because of a few slurs...
With laws like this, you don't stand a chance of winning the battle in the stands until real changes happen. You have to be patient instead of acting like a killjoy over a few swear words...

With laws like this, you aren't winning any battles in the stands until things actually change. You gotta play the long game instead of acting like a Boy Scout over some cursing...
