Forgive me if this sounds like a naive question, but I’ve been wondering about something. If someone loses blood—whether through an injury or by donating—does the body eventually replenish itself back to its baseline state? To put it more precisely: if a person were to lose a few drops of blood every five days, would their total volume eventually stabilize at its original level?
I realize the question might seem trivial, but I am genuinely curious.

Of course it regenerates. 🙂

How would people even donate blood ten times if it didn't replenish? Sure, it takes a little while to get your volume back to normal, but it happens. Every single cell in the human body has its own lifespan. Here, check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood, maybe it’ll clear things up for you.

I was wondering if it’s actually possible for someone to have blood drawn twice in a single day? I don't mean in the context of donating—I assume you give much more than what's needed for testing—but rather that I need to get some lab work done, and I won't be able to do both at the same facility. That said, if it were physically possible, I would definitely prefer to just get it all over with on the same day...

Not talking about donating—I know they take way more than that when you're a donor—but I need to get some routine bloodwork done, and since I can't get it all done at the same clinic, I figured I'd try to knock them both out on the same day if that's even an option...

Yeah, you can. You could even do it twice or more if there’s a legitimate medical reason for it.

Great, in that case, I'll just head over there the same day and get everything squared away...
thanks for the info
