Anyone interested in joining a pub trivia team? We’re playing this Friday at the AMC Theater. We have a crew started, but we need to shake things up because a few members haven't been pulling their weight. So, if you live for trivia night, enjoy crosswords, or just happen to have a decent amount of general knowledge, let me know...

wanderingcyclist3, is that you? 😲😲

I’d love to jump in, but honestly, my knowledge is all over the place. I know way too much about some random stuff and absolutely nothing about anything else 😢
One of these days, I'm gonna whip up my own trivia game and I am going to crush it 🙂

Good luck with that. Honestly, I’ve been looking for people for the exact same thing for way longer now, just here in Newport, and I still can't get a group together. And look, they don't even need to meet some crazy set of requirements—all I need is for them to be free on Sunday evenings and actually willing to hang out with me. I’m not boring, I’m not stupid, and I’m definitely not unpleasant to look at, plus I don't smell bad (unless I happen to get suffocated by cigarette smoke at the venue, but hey, that’s just how it goes). I mean, what more could anyone possibly ask for in a teammate? 😬

Is anyone here? It would be nice to have some fellow cinephiles around.

Hey there! Are the trivia nights still happening on Fridays over at the Europa theater? I haven't made it out yet, but I’ve been constantly prepping my brain just to stay competitive in the "scouting" phase. Thanks for letting me know!

I’m jumping in here—culture is my thing, but music? That's really where I live.

I’m not going to list specific areas right now, because I don't want anyone thinking I've lost my touch or don't know the landscape🙂
For the first time, I think I'll just sit back in the audience and watch. I need to see exactly who I'm dealing with before I step up, just so I don't end up looking like an amateur😁

I should like to join, though I typically find myself occupied with films during those hours.😢

Does anyone know if pub quizzes are still a thing over in Washington, D.C.?

So, what about the folks looking to jump in for the very first time? Is there some kind of prerequisite or specific qualification they need to hit first?

Could someone please give me a quick rundown on what pub quizzes actually are? I'm just visiting from Miami.

Basically, groups of people meet up in a public spot—usually a bar—form teams of about five, and try to answer questions written by the event organizer. I did a quick search on Google and saw there might be one happening at a club called Quasimodo in Miami. You should definitely check it out. Good luck! 👋

There are quite a few pub trivia nights held throughout Washington, D.C., and I suppose the one hosted over in Europe tends to draw a rather large crowd, since anyone is welcome to attend and there isn't any sort of entry fee required.

So when does it actually happen? Like, what days are we talking about?

Interesting... Could you provide a few examples of what kind of questions we're talking about?

Do I need to sign up beforehand or what?

How does this whole thing work?
