It looks like a simple fix, but man, this thing has been giving me a massive headache 😁

YouTube keeps stuttering every single second—it’s basically unwatchable. I tried disabling Flash Player version 16.0.0.235 in my add-ons because that was making things even worse, but still nothing.
Anyone got any clues?

First, clear your browser's cookies and cache, then perform a full factory reset on the application. Download the latest Flash here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_redirect
And Java:
https://java.com/en/download/

Check if you have any internet accelerator software running. Run a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and clean up your system using CCleaner.

If it still doesn't work, come back and tell us which browser you're using, your OS, and whether your internet connection is functioning normally otherwise.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess we’re talking about Chrome—because let’s be honest, when it comes to Flash, Chrome is an absolute train wreck.
It’s just like what Daniel Evans142 was saying—the real headaches are happening over on YouTube; we’re seeing issues with Flash games and general streaming stability too. Everything runs flawlessly in Mozilla, truly, everything works perfectly there, but Chrome? Honestly, it’s a total disaster.

Thanks guys, but I’ve got the latest versions of both Flash and Java installed. My PC (Windows 8.1) is a fresh install, so I highly doubt I’ve picked up some random virus. I’m running Mozilla, and honestly, I think the issue lies somewhere with these plugins. Every time I disable Shockwave Flash video, the playback stutters every single second. But if I leave it on? It freezes instantly, throws an error, and then tries to force everything into HD right away.
I’m seriously stumped on how to fix this.

That sounds like an issue stemming from a recent Flash or Firefox update.
Try installing an older version of Flash to see if that fixes it, or just switch browsers entirely. If you want something similar to Firefox, try this:

It runs perfectly fine on my machine. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

Sprinkling some magic on those single-family homes... mmmm... 😁

And here is the plugin I'm currently running:
I'm using it in Waterfox...

Do those clips play okay on other sites, like Dailymotion? And what kind of setup are you running—what processor are we talking about? Did you run into this same headache back when you were using Windows 7, or is your hard drive just starting to give up the ghost?
I’d suggest downloading CrystalDiskInfo or Hard Disk Sentinel to see what's actually going on under the hood... maybe run a quick disk defrag while you're at it. I assume you already ran CCleaner, but if you just finished a fresh install of Windows, things should theoretically be fine,
though an older version of Flash might actually solve the issue, just like people were suggesting you 😉

Have you had a chance to check your speeds on a speed test? If your signal strength to the router is weak, that could definitely be part of the problem; you really have to rule out every single variable before you can be sure

For me, official videos on YouTube just refuse to load on my Optima connection half the time, and then I'll come back the next day, open the exact same link, and suddenly it works perfectly! It’s totally hit or miss, though I've noticed the unofficial uploads usually play without any drama

I used to deal with this annoying audio stuttering on YouTube whenever I was loading heavy pages in Chrome, so I eventually switched over to Opera, and honestly, everything runs smoothly there without the sound cutting out.

Got a brand new PC with a fresh install of Windows 8.1 64-bit, but video playback keeps stuttering on various sites like Dailymotion.
The weird thing is, everything runs perfectly fine on Internet Explorer... looks like there's some issue with Mozilla :S

Waterfox is acting up just like Firefox—constant stuttering... I don't know, my Chrome doesn't even show my history and I've got way too many tabs open, but it feels like I'm out of options here.
Maybe I should try enabling Java as a plugin in Mozilla?
Also, does anyone know how to actually download an older version of Flash? Every time I try, it just forces me back to Flash Player version 16.0.0.235.

Happy New Year, everyone. Wishing you all the best for the year ahead.

I’ve been running into an issue with YouTube for a few days now. Certain videos simply won't load, leaving me with this message: "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn more."

It isn't happening with every video, though; some play perfectly fine without any hiccups. 🤦

The strange thing is, those exact same videos work flawlessly on my phone.

Any advice?

I’ve been dealing with this exact same headache for about seven months now, and honestly, it’s just one of those things where sometimes a quick page refresh fixes everything, but other times, nothing works at all until the following day. I’ve heard from quite a few people over at Verizon that they’re running into this same frustrating glitch.
I’m honestly not sure which carrier you’re using at the moment? It’s funny because I’ve been running into the exact same issue myself; just a second ago, an official site refused to load for me too, throwing up that annoying "please try again" error message, but then I gave it a quick refresh and—lo and behold—it started working perfectly fine!
Honestly, there are times when even all that troubleshooting doesn't do a lick of good, and I feel like I've cycled through just about every trick in the book already. If a specific video refuses to load on YouTube, I've basically stopped stressing over it; I just hop over to Dailymotion, watch it there, and call it a day. It’s become my little way of staying sane. 😬

I'm on Battle.net, and this is actually the first time I've run into any YouTube issues since I switched from AT&T about two years ago. I doubt it's a provider issue, though, since it loads perfectly fine on my phone.

I also tried F5 today—it worked once, but failed the second time...

It's honestly hard to pin down what the actual problem is.

Tny anyway 👍

Hitting refresh hardly ever does the trick, but here is a little workaround

http://www.pinproxy.com you just plug in the URL for the clip and every single video should play just fine 👍
