Greetings. I am attempting to determine which sound card would be the superior choice for gaming purposes, specifically when paired with my Sennheiser PC 330 headset:

The first option:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102175

The second option:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132020

What are your thoughts on this matter?

What do you guys think?

It's definitely Creative Labs for me... I honestly wouldn't even hesitate with this choice.

Creative Labs tends to rebrand and repackage the same old gear over and over again, and honestly, owner reviews seem to tank every single time they do it. Besides, it’s marketed as a "value" model, which is usually code for mediocre. That 7.1 feature? It's completely unnecessary—just pure marketing fluff.

The ASUS setup features Dolby Atmos, a Realtek Audio DSP, Cirrus Logic D/A, and a headphone amp capable of driving high-impedance cans. Personally, I find it pairs quite nicely with my Sennheiser😉. It even includes an optical output if you happen to need one.

The ASUS setup features Dolby Atmos, Creative Labs Sound Blaster, Cirrus Logic D/A, and a headphone amp capable of driving high-impedance gear. For some reason, it just pairs better with my Sennheiser 😉. It also includes an optical output, should that be required.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and ordered the Creative Labs Sound Blaster, hoping it will be compatible with my ASUS motherboard P5LD2-X. I managed to find a new unit for 37 miles or about $30 🙂
