A new Cinephilia fest is kicking off soon, and looking at the lineup—it’s easily the strongest one yet. We're talking winners from all three major festivals (Cannes, Berlin, Venice) plus Leos Carax, Demme's Neil Young flick, a new Ken Loach, and even Solondz...

Check out the full schedule and grab your tickets here: www.filmomanija.hr

Here’s what’s playing:
7 Days in Havana - Benicio Del Toro, Pablo Trapero, Gaspar Noé, Laurent Cantet, Julio Medem, Elia Suleiman, and Juan Carlos Tabío
Celeste and Jesse Forever – Lee Toland Krieger
The Magician – Taviani brothers
The Angel's Share – Ken Loach
Damsels in Distress – Whit Stillman
Damsels in Distress – Malgorzata Szumowska
Faust – Aleksandr Sokurov
Hearat Shulayim – Joseph Cedar
The Bones of Rouille – Jacques Audiard
Twixt – Francis Ford Coppola
Coriolanus – Ralph Fiennes
Amour – Michael Haneke
The Place – Paolo Sorrentino
Letter to Dad – Damir Čučić
Neil Young Journeys – Jonathan Demme
Robot & Frank – Jak Schreier
The Kid with a Bike – Ursula Meier
Holy Motors – Leos Carax
Tabu – Miguel Gomes
Dark Horse – Todd Solondz
The Door – István Szabó
Babycall – Pål Sletaune
La femme du Veme – Pawel Pawlikowski

So, what do you guys think?

I say—it looks amazing! 👋
Such an interesting lineup, there's seriously so much good stuff to see... Tabu and Faust were actually missed at the San Diego Film Festival recently, so I'm just thrilled I'll finally get a chance to catch them.
And honestly, I'll be damned if I don't go see Amour at least twice—it's just stunning, absolutely perfect! 😬 😍

There’s some absolute gems in there, sure, and some total garbage too, but "Holy Motors" and "Amour"—now those are the kind of movies you just have to watch over and over again.

So where did you catch Holy Motors?

At the New Horizons festival in Wroclaw—which, if you ask me, is easily the strongest lineup at any festival in the world.

Man, I was just picturing Haneke walking into his hotel room after bagging another Palme d'Or, throwing on Mirković's "Night Boat," and getting absolutely hammered.
Poor kid.

Well, I’ve got just the perfect suggestion for a festival like that. Incredible programming, but a total nightmare of an experience.

Nah, I was actually picturing Haneke walking into his hotel room after bagging this second Golden Palm, popping on Mirković's "night boat," and getting absolutely hammered.
Poor kid.

Comparing a guy whose films feel like they were directed by someone who learned the craft in an Algebra coding bootcamp to Haneke is just bad taste. 😉

I'll check out Holy Motors, but don't think I'm exactly swooning over highbrow pretension.

Did you lose your train of thought somewhere along the way?
I just had this wild realization hit me—what if Haneke actually ripped off Mirković? 😁

"Holy Motors" is easily one of the most original movies from the last decade. It’s one of the best. One of the saddest. One of the most fascinating things I've ever seen. Period.

Man, talk about an original—and totally unhinged—take!

Just finished watching rust and bone (De rouille et d'os). It’s got this accidental vibe—like an American version of True Romance.

I caught the touching Amour on Thursday, so this little festival seems to be hitting all the right notes.

...
It's day two, and I'm still reeling from rust and bone. That doesn't happen to me very often.

Quick word on "Amour". Looks like we need to catch the new Haneke ASAP.

I just had this wild thought that Haneke actually ripped off Mirković 😁

The reality is just that Mirković and Haneke both hit on the same idea, then they went their separate ways and made their own films. Everyone gets what they deserve, I guess.🙂

Come on, give us some thoughts on "rust," please.

I had my tickets booked for last Saturday, but I couldn't make it. I'm beyond pissed about it. 😢
