My apologies to the admins if this thread landed in the wrong subforum; please feel free to move it wherever it belongs.
Anyway, does anyone happen to know if those two magazines are still being published?
🤷
Thanks!

I’ve been wondering about the same thing regarding Gameplay. It feels like they just suddenly stopped releasing stuff, and there’s absolutely nothing being said about it online.

Gameplay became Next Level 🙂 but apparently, they aren't even doing Next Level anymore 🙂

I believe I have finally stumbled upon the answer to my question on another forum—one I’ll leave unnamed...

Quoting:
"The debut issue of Reboot magazine is scheduled for the second half of July. An exact date will be announced shortly.

Reboot is a project spearheaded by the same team behind Next Level, Gameplay, PSX, and hacker.
The publisher for Reboot is Digital Adventure LLC, founded and produced by the core team members themselves.

At the beginning of July, the reboot.com portal will launch, which will host this very forum."

In conclusion, is Next Level rebranding as Reboot now? Let's hope this one actually lasts longer than a year. :P

Correct me if I am mistaken.

Enter is dead—and from what I can tell, there aren't any plans to bring it back to life.

What a shame... that magazine really was decent. Tell me, do you happen to know of any other publications similar to it? I'm looking for something with a comparable depth in articles and subject matter—I can't stand those types like Wired; they feel a bit too "heavyweight" for the casual hobbyist.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Nah, sorry. PC Gamer is actually for the casual amateurs; Enter was more for the kids.

It doesn't matter... back when I was reading Enter regularly, I was just a kid myself.😁

Man, forget it. I’ve been grinding this Gameplay all the way up to number 99, just waiting to finally hit that 100 mark—but it feels like it'll never happen. And now I find out you guys are saying they actually changed the name? Seriously? There is no way I'm spending another dime on anything they've gone and rebranded 🙂

Absolutely not. I am done buying anything from these people if they're just going to change the brand name on us like this. 🙂

From what I can gather, every time they switch publishers, they swap the name too... they started as PSX, moved to Gameplay, then to NextLevel—which didn't even last ten releases—and now apparently it's going to be called Reboot. Just great. -.-

Picked up the first Reboot,
it’s solid,
happy they're coming back,
the gameplay is different from Next Level.

They really need to step up the marketing if they want big sales, though. I just happened to spot a magazine at a gas station.

Anyway, I’m buying it every month and hope it stays on shelves consistently without any gaps.

Glad they're making a comeback,
even if the gameplay isn't quite Next Level.

That said, they really need to step up the marketing if they want actual sales; I stumbled upon the magazine at a local newsstand entirely by accident.

Anyway, I'm buying it monthly and I just hope they can maintain a steady release schedule without any interruptions.

I agree... the reason the gameplay is identical to NLu is because it's the same crew behind it, just under a different publisher. 🙂

Their marketing is decent (check their Facebook page; the website should be live soon since the forum is already up and running)... but they probably don't have the budget for prime placement at newsstands, which is expensive. It would almost be foolish to try and squeeze Reboot in there among the daily papers like the New York Times, USA Today, or magazines like Lisa and Gloria.🤣

Is anyone interested in taking *Enter* magazine off my hands for free? I’ve got the run from issue #25 through #86—though there might be a few gaps in there somewhere. I'm based in San Francisco, so if you're local, I can drop them off to you at no charge; otherwise, just cover the shipping and I'll send 🙂
