I find myself stuck in a bit of a dilemma, weighing the merits of Canon Pixma MX515 against the HP OfficeJet 4500.

From what I can gather, the Canon carries a slightly higher price tag, roughly around $13 $730/$230.

Does anyone have insight regarding the ongoing costs for both OEM ink cartridges and those third-party replacements?

Much appreciated.

How's anyone supposed to know where you're planning to pick up genuine vs. generic ink? And where are you even located? Just check which stores you actually use and look through their supply catalogs...

I can grab the exact same generic ink at $3.25 or even at $6.75 (it's identical!) for my Epson, it just depends on which shop I end up walking into...

Alright, let me rephrase my question to be more clear.

Does anyone here actually own any of these models? I'm really curious to hear about your firsthand experiences with them. Specifically, what kind of ink are you running, and how many pages can you actually squeeze out of a set before you're running on empty?

Thanks!

If you think you're gonna print a ton of stuff, just forget about buying a new printer.

You'll just end up getting ripped off by more Vaporware.

You’ll just end up getting slapped in the face by more absolute Vaporware.

I assume you meant Vaporware.
