Dell UltraSharp Monitor and macOS

Can I use this Dell UltraSharp Monitor with a Mac? Not a mac.

The GPU? Who knows. 😛 Buying a new computer in June. Any recs would be cool, I guess.

Just wondering if the monitor actually works—like, will I run into that issue where I can't adjust the Contrast, which I've seen people complaining about on other forums (though those threads are ancient, back when the Microsoft logo was totally different. Seriously)?

It’s just not going to happen—you can only hook that monitor up via a Thunderbolt port. Sure, you could grab some extra adapters and try to run a different monitor through that same port, but if we're talking about a dedicated Thunderbolt display, it needs a Thunderbolt port. Period. Most Mac chipsets just don't have the native support for it.

I don't know... I've got a 1394 port on my Mac, but maybe that isn't Thunderbolt or whatever.
