Alright folks, if you're curious, take a look at how things actually go down during a procedure with Dr. Žgaraljdić. If you have the stomach for it, pay close attention to the 5:20 mark. That’s when the patient starts coming out of anesthesia and they tell her: "Antonia, wake up," (she tries to say something), and he just cuts her off: "Don't, don't say anything, the camera is filming you, just be a good girl!"

And this is how they try to convince us that patients under his care wake up from a beautiful dream, totally painless and complaint-free ^_^
Oh yeah, sure! 🙂
Honestly, I don't think it's like that anywhere, so I don't get what the big performance is for. 🙄
Personally, his whole vibe just doesn't inspire much confidence. So, instead of wasting your money on a consultation with him, just watch the first part of this report, and I think you'll get an immediate impression of the guy.
Judge for yourselves. 🙂

Hello again, everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here might be able to share their experiences regarding nose surgery at the general hospital in Cleveland. I am specifically looking into having the procedure performed by Dr. Turkalj.

Thank you all so much in advance.

Does anyone happen to know if Dr. Davor Džepina is still practicing over at the Vinogradski clinic? Also, has anyone here actually used their Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance at his facility before? I'm just curious about how the whole process works—is it pretty seamless or a bit of a headache?

Hey! All I know is he’s definitely still working there because he came by for my visit when I was in town, but I can't help with the rest...

Has anyone here who had septum surgery dealt with a weird smell inside their nose? 😕 I'm guessing it's just some random inflammation while everything heals, but it's honestly pretty gross whenever it happens. 😢

Thanks so much 🙂

I personally didn't deal with any weird smells, but the inflammation was definitely nasty. It’ll pass, though—don't sweat it too much 🙂

Is it the same after nose surgery?

Yeah, true. But honestly, that was five years ago—I don't remember all the tiny details anymore. All I know is that I received great care at the Mayo Clinic under Dr. Džepina. I ended up with an infection because we were moving into a new apartment right after being discharged from the hospital, so there was this massive cleaning marathon going on. Everything just got irritated from all those harsh cleaning supplies. Luckily, it passed pretty quickly—the infection and the swelling both cleared up fast.

You say the swelling goes away fast... how fast are we talking exactly? 😁
The swelling is making me look unrecognizable, and honestly, I'm feeling pretty desperate about it. 😍

How long has it been since your surgery?

Honestly, the first time I looked in the mirror, I was pretty crushed. Between the swelling and my nose looking like something you could practically inhale, it wasn't exactly the "wow" moment I expected. But—and this is important because everyone heals differently—within just a month, things started looking completely different. You really just have to hang in there and be patient. Dr. Džepina warned me about all of this beforehand, which definitely helped me stay calm while waiting for the results to settle.

I'm feeling so swollen I don't even recognize myself. It's honestly devastating. 😍

It took about ten days for me. After five or six days, my eyes started swelling up, and then the swelling moved to my cheeks—and that was all after ten days. 😉

The first time I looked in the mirror, I was pretty disappointed. Between the swelling and a nose bridge that looked strong enough to knock someone out, it wasn't great. But after about a month—though I guess everyone heals differently—it looks completely different. You just have to be patient. Dr. Džepina warned me about all this beforehand, which made the waiting a bit easier.

I had my surgery on November 2nd, so it’s been 14 days, or two weeks.
My splint was actually removed just two days ago 😁
I get that patience is key... I was just wondering how long it might take before I look like this 😁 a month, two, three? Or maybe sooner 🙄

Rachel Fisher97 said:Are you talking about swelling or just fat deposits? My fat settled down in like 10 days, almost totally gone now. But man, my nose was so swollen... 😲 like, my whole face was puffy. I looked like a panda 😍

Tomorrow marks exactly one month since my surgery, and honestly, things have calmed down so much in the last week or so. You can't even feel any swelling anymore, let alone see it... I guess things healed pretty fast for me 🤔 even though it felt like forever. When the swelling moved down to my lower cheeks, I looked like a chipmunk 😁 plus my nose tip was still puffed up, so I was basically a cross between a chipmunk and a teddy bear 😁
