These are the tracks that made it into the shortlist. Honestly, I have no clue what criteria they used, because these songs were massive hits compared to Brad Pitt, Dalmatinka, God Will Provide, Hundred Years, and Esotericism; basically, almost everything else somehow squeezed into the final selection.
If these songs—which honestly lean toward some pretty mediocre nonsense—actually get nominated, it might just signal the final death knell for the American music industry.
It’s been in a coma for several years now anyway, with a few exceptions.
I'm genuinely disappointed that the Song of the Year went to Bareta.
Personally, I wouldn't even hand that man a Snickers bar, let alone a Grammy Award.

Does anyone happen to know if there's anywhere else I can find recordings of the Grammy Awards besides YouTube?

It's a shame the Song of the Year went to Bareta.

I feel the same way.😢
Voted for the general category.

Regarding the nominations, I suppose the awards aren't distributed too poorly, though it’s certainly a bit of a shock seeing TBF take home Album of the Year; I mean, I’m quite fond of them, but I probably wouldn't have handed them a Grammy since they've definitely put out superior work in the past.
It still strikes me as somewhat odd how Hauser and his partner managed to sweep the international categories while being classified as domestic acts, whereas someone like Hauser is treated as a local entity... I guess the logic just isn't there.

I guess it’s because that Urban and Hauser album was basically tailor-made for the American market, whereas Šulić and Hauser actually have a global following. I still don't quite get why they're even lumped into the international category though. 😕
I'm honestly glad TBF snagged Best Album (even if there were better ones out there), mostly because last year's selection felt a bit lackluster—maybe Bare or Mother had something stronger, but everything else just felt pretty mediocre.
And it makes zero sense to them giving out Grammys to foreign artists when those musicians probably haven't the slightest clue they were even nominated or won an award.

I honestly think the whole thing boils down to whether you're dealing with an American label or one based overseas. For instance, Šulić and Hauser released their album under the Sony Music label, whereas the Urban and Hauser project was put out by Aquarius.

Well, that might be technically true, though it feels somewhat pointless to me.
I mean, if Lady Gaga happened to release an album through Sony Music, would we suddenly start calling her an American artist?

I mean, if Lady Gaga signed to Sony Music, would she suddenly be considered an American artist? That makes no sense.
That scenario isn't going to happen anyway, so there's really no point in overthinking it... 😁 Theoretically speaking, we'd be talking about an American RELEASE, not the artist herself. And at the end of the day, a Grammy is just a music industry award...🤷

It strikes me as odd as well, though I suppose we just have this strange tendency to pat ourselves on the back and hand out our own accolades, don't we? Don't get me wrong, Cello is certainly a breath of fresh air, but when you measure them against the true heavyweights of the global stage, one has to wonder. And besides, isn't one of them actually Canadian?😁
