Personally, I thought the movie was pretty decent

Just watched it—solid, engaging flick with some twists you won't see coming (though a few felt a bit shaky logically, but whatever). The first half plays more like a drama, then it shifts into a thriller/mystery vibe for the second. Sandra Bullock was incredible, though maybe she leaned a little too hard into the "scared" act at times? 🤔8/10

A few days back, I stumbled onto this review that actually made me hesitate on whether to even bother watching it.

Either the writer just can't stand Sandra Bullock, or we watched two completely different movies, because honestly, it wasn't nearly as garbage as he made it out to be. What's the verdict?

The movie is decent enough, but man, that ending? It felt rushed. It totally kills the momentum and leaves you hanging—just wasn't the satisfying finish I was looking for.
I’m strictly talking about the narrative here. Aside from the plot issues, there were plenty of little details that actually worked quite well.
That said, from a technical standpoint, the film is excellently crafted. Definitely worth a watch if you have the time.

Given the timing of this release, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sandra Bullock picks up at least an Oscar nomination for this one.
She delivers such a powerhouse performance—you can see that raw frustration, that sense of deep-seated helplessness, etched right onto her face throughout... and honestly, the film itself holds up quite well,
even if it does take a few narrative shortcuts—specifically where certain plot points feel a bit too "conveniently" aligned, particularly the catalyst that
drives the brother to commit those final, desperate acts.
Still, all things considered, it’s a compelling story.

Sure, the movie has some forced situations and could have used more character development or an extra supporting role, but it's understandable that they couldn't fit everything in like they did in a series due to the runtime. Regardless, it's a great film, Sandra Bullock is fantastic, and Pavičić's headline is nothing more than a cheap vent from a writer who clearly specializes in mediocre crime stories.

Really solid movie. Definitely worth a watch.

It’s basically just Botox. He gives everyone that same numb, helpless feeling.🤣

I don't get why she threw it all away. It’s not like any court in America would charge a kid with murder. Sure, maybe she would have lost custody, but this? This is her entire life gone, plus prison time on top of it. Seems like a bad trade to me, especially since the kid is already in a coma and drugged up. Not worth it.

Let's be real, what jury would actually believe her? If anything, she just pissed them off more. At least this way she got out early for good behavior. Besides, she carries a huge chunk of the blame for the killing because she practically handed that kid the weapon. What judge wouldn't hand her at least five years for negligence?

Then there are the prints on the gun. Looks like they belong to the kid, unless she wiped them down and left her own behind. Seems like she's doing more harm than good.

Exactly. If it were just a kid, they would have spent a few years seeing a psychologist and wouldn't even face criminal charges. Instead, she’s basically turned herself into a martyr—though I suppose for what purpose, I can't quite say.

It's really nothing special to watch.

Sandra Bullock was truly, truly phenomenal in this role—you have to hand it to her... The film shows real promise, starting off with such a strong momentum, though I'll admit it loses a bit of its edge and feels somewhat flat as it goes on, but all things considered, I enjoyed it quite a bit and think it's certainly worth a watch. I particularly appreciated how they handled the ending... 7/10

Do you people realize what the problem is with most of you viewers? You insist on comparing movies to real life and nitpicking every little detail. Sure, the movie has some stretched elements, but it’s just a film—it follows its own internal logic, it's convincing, and that's enough. It doesn't have to be a documentary!

That would be a terrible judgment—a poor choice, or a bad call, I suppose. When someone makes a move like that, they ruin their own life, and honestly, the lives of a whole bunch of other people too... Sadly, plenty of people make those kinds of mistakes, so if anything, the film is quite believable and holds a certain grounding in reality.

Of course, we're talking about a movie here, not a gritty crime documentary. Nobody is even going to remember this film in a few years, but that doesn't mean it isn't perfectly fine to sit down and watch right now.
