Picking a favorite song is impossible. They’re all special, just different vibes.

But man, that effortless way she sang? That was something else. I truly believe a talent like hers only comes around once in three centuries. 🙂

It’s such a shame she went down that path—and I mean that from the perspective of those of us watching from the outside, knowing exactly what she could have been if things had gone differently...

Anyway, she's in a better, more beautiful place now.

Just so you know, the original version was actually released as a Japanese bonus track on the album I'm Your Baby Tonight.

Her most recent album serves as the ultimate testament to her talent—even if her vocals only hit about 50% of what we heard on The Whitney. That said, it’s still that unmistakable voice, and honestly, it feels more convincing than anything from the start of her career because she sings with such raw emotion and authenticity now. She's clearly matured, regardless of how much her vocal cords took a beating due to her turbulent lifestyle. It’s a tragedy, a genuine tragedy... if she had just managed to claw her way out of that addiction hell, don't you think she could have recorded her absolute masterpiece, regardless of the state of her voice?

I remember seeing this interview where a reporter asked her about Mariah Carey; "What do you think of her?"
And she just goes, "I don't think of her." 🙏
