Jeepers Creepers (2001)

Darrell and Patricia Jenner are just driving home during spring break when they spot this creepy stranger tossing something that looks way too much like a body into a small tunnel. Obviously, because curiosity killed the cat, they decide to check it out. Big mistake. Darrell stumbles upon this nightmare hideout packed with gruesome trophies and... well, messed up bodies. They try to bolt, but it turns out you can't really outrun whatever is hunting them down.

Anyone watching this? Honestly, I think the first part hits way harder than the sequel.

The 2013 third installment: Jeepers Creepers: Cathedral

I found both to be excellent; they possess a certain vintage quality reminiscent of Tales from the Crypt.😁 That is the specific style of horror I enjoy.😍

Yeah, honestly, they're both great. I mean, both the first and the second hit the spot, though if I had to pick, the original takes it just by a hair... even if the sequel actually holds its own pretty well.🙂

As for that third dream everyone keeps talking about, we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

I watched a movie today and it was really good. The tension is intense throughout. I felt bad seeing Darcy end up like that at the end, and I honestly wish the police had just opened fire on The Creeper when they had him. All in all, it's a solid watch. 8/10

Decent movie. I was expecting total trash, but it turned out to be alright.
I guess that's what happens when you have zero expectations. 😁

Incredible movie. I still remember watching it for the first time—what a nightmare. For a while after, I’d swear I could hear those wings flapping whenever I stepped outside at night. The sequel holds up just as well, and I really hope the third one follows suit. The villain is top-tier; he truly defines the whole vibe of the film, especially with that tense atmosphere. What I love most about him is how mysterious and unpredictable he stays. He’s just... elusive. I just hope they don't ruin him with some stupid backstory in the upcoming third installment.

We're talking about Victor Salva, an undeniably talented director with some seriously dark personal issues🙄.
I was actually chatting with my buddy Deckard about him and his pretty controversial film Clownhouse back in '89. I say controversial because the lead actor—who was just a kid at the time—was a victim of Salvine's behavior. He ended up doing a year in prison
.

Obviously, that's a side note and doesn't change the fact that he's a great filmmaker
. Personally, I think Jeepers Creepers is one of the best horror flicks from the last decade. I’d especially point to the sequel, which really nails that 80s horror vibe

It feels almost impossible to make a modern horror movie without drowning the audience in fake, predictable jump scares... honestly, those scenes are probably only scary to the people making them, if they even care

Jeepers Creepers is such a breath of fresh air because it avoids all those tired clichés. Both movies share another trait—they sort of fall into that road horror category, which makes them way more engaging to watch
. But those are just surface details. The real key, and I think Noah Sanchez2 would agree here, is that creepy creature that drives the whole atmosphere... it gets so intense it keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end

The hideout, the bus in the second film, the solid acting—especially Ray Wise, who was great in Twin Peaks—and that terrifying creature are just a few reasons why this is an awesome movie that’s actually fun too. I bet even people who aren't big on horror will dig it

The first two are solid, though that third one was pretty much garbage. Just found out the fourth is actually in post-production—should be dropping later this year...

The first flick was killer—that long drive scene had this tension that actually worked, you know? Even with just them talking, it wasn't a slog at all. Only weird part was the brother-sister thing... kind of a bizarre choice for a movie. A couple would’ve felt way more natural.

The sequel was pretty mid, honestly, but fine.

I'm definitely checking out Reborn 2021.

Got about 15 movies left on my watchlist for 2021/2022.

I can't say I remember all the specifics, but I definitely have this lingering sense that it was actually a pretty decent movie
