Go to Tools > Settings > Advanced > General. Just check the box that says "Warn you when a page tries to redirect or reload."

Ugh, I’m dealing with the exact same thing—I put this together just to get it sorted out. Honestly, I’m mostly just posting this so people know we’re still out here... though I can't quite wrap my head around what the actual point of all this is.
