Following the solid original back in 2002 starring Rock, and the budget-heavy second installment (which actually works as a prequel) titled The Scorpion King 2 : rise of a Warrior from 2008—where Randy Couture played the main bad guy—the third chapter has finally landed on DVD and Blu-ray, titled The Scorpion King 3 : Battle for Redemption.

Unlike that second movie, this third entry actually pulls in some heavy hitters for the cast, including Ron Perlman and Billy Zane, plus you've got Temuera Morrison (who you probably know as Jango Fett from SW or Abin Sur from Green Lantern) in the mix.

Here’s the breakdown from the studio's official press release: 😁 :

Quote : The Scorpion King 3 : Battle for Redemption brings The heroic
The Scorpion King 3 : Battle for Redemption brings the heroic, larger-than-life saga of the dethroned king Mathayus to face some of his fiercest demons and most vicious rivals—both real and supernatural—ever. In a dangerous, action-packed battle to regain his glory and reclaim the empire, Mathayus' own journey is steeped in intrigue, sorcery and romance...The film's fight scenes, choreographed by stunt experts Kawee " Seng " Sirikanerut ( Ong Bak : The Thai Warrior ) and Supoj " Jimmy " Khaowwong ( Batman Begins ), are showcased within enchanting ancient palaces, against a backdrop of breathtaking desert vistas. The Scorpion King 3 : Battle for Redemption [ also ] stars Golden globa ® winner Ron Perlman ( Hellboy ii : The Golden Army ) as Horus , The powerful King of Egypt , and Billy Zane

Just finished watching it. Honestly, it’s way worse than the first one, but still miles ahead of the second installment. There’s plenty of laughs, and the guy playing the Scorpion King actually reminds me a lot of The Rock—he even picked up some of his mannerisms and facial expressions. Plus, the special effects don't look super cheap like they did in the second movie.

One obvious downside is the total lack of a diverse cast like we saw in the first film. If I had to pick a standout, though, I’d have to go with Perlman’s performance; her makeup is pretty much on par with Burt Reynolds' look in that Uwe Boll trash flick, In the Name of the King (which, speaking of trash, Boll just shot a sequel starring Dolph Lundgren 😬 ).

The trailer looks like it belongs to some Eastern martial arts epic—you know, the whole vibe of pagodas, elephants, kung fu, and way too much slow-mo... they even threw some ninjas in there. 😁

Man, I’ve got this nagging feeling in my gut that this is going to be just as much of a dumpster fire as the second one, if not worse. 😁

So, I took Frank Moore4's advice and actually hit play on this thing. About 7.4 minutes in, I shut it off, nuked it from my hard drive, and then went ahead and emptied the recycle bin just to be safe.
Don't watch this movie even if someone's pointing a loaded gun at your head!

Alright, fair enough... 😁 Personally, I think Scorpion King 2 and In the Name of the King are actually worse. 😬

I might actually have to sit through this just because of that comment. You were clearly so rattled that you couldn't even be bothered with basic grammar. 🤣

Judging by the trailer, it looks like they took a bunch of random ingredients—apples, oranges, steak, and salad—threw them in a blender, and ended up with something as ugly as *The Thing*. But hey, high-quality trash is still worth its weight in gold. 😁

Don't even think about watching this one—not even if someone’s got a gun to your head!

If we’re talking about a video game, then honestly, if you're going through all that trouble to delete it, you might as well go in and scrub the registry too. Just to be safe. 😁

In the Name of the King was actually a decent enough flick—just a solid little action romp. But man, I don't know about SK3... that one just felt like a total drag. It definitely didn't help anything. 😁

I haven't watched it yet, but honestly, even the trailer tells me everything I need to know... this looks like absolute garbage. 🤦
