I'm originally from Des Moines, though I spend most of my time living in Washington, D.C.
My gynecologist back in Des Moines gave me a referral for some blood work, and I made sure to tell them explicitly that I needed a referral valid for testing here in D.C.
The nurse mentioned there shouldn't be any issues getting it done at any lab that offers these specific tests.

Now, I just need some advice on where in the D.C. area I can go to get this done and what the process looks like. Does one need to make an appointment, or can you just show up and wait...

What kind of blood work are we talking about? Like, testing sex hormones? Or checking for thrombophilia? Blood type, CDC stuff...?

I’m not entirely sure what this is for, just some routine follow-up related to birth control (Yasmin)

The order is for _Medical Biochemistry_
The diagnostic reason is _Contraceptive procedures, unspecified_
Please, they are requesting _fibrinogen...

They are asking for fibrinogen

There is absolutely no need to order this.

That’s excellent, thank you vividsailor7.

But the bigger question is, where can I actually go to get this done?
I realize you might not want to—or perhaps aren't allowed to—promote specific hospitals, but I honestly have no idea where to go in NYC for blood work...
Back home in Des Moines, it’s easy because there is only one lab... 🤣
but in NYC, I just don't know where to turn... 🤷

But here’s the real kicker: where am I actually supposed to go to get this done?
I realize you might not want to—or even be allowed to—basically "advertise" specific hospitals, but I honestly have no clue where to find a decent lab in NYC to get bloodwork done.
Back home in Des Moines, it's easy; there's basically just one main lab in town... 🤣
but in NYC? I'm totally lost on where to go... 🤷

It really depends on where you're located, so which one is closest to you?

The Mayo Clinic is the closest option for me.
It's possible to get it done there... 🤷

I feel a bit silly even asking questions like this... sorry... 😁

I honestly feel pretty pathetic even asking questions like this... sorry... 😁

It isn't free.
You could go to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, for instance.

I was actually thinking I could just settle up with them directly...

Holy Spirit is a bit out of my way on the other side of town

I'm assuming they don't handle things that way over at Mirogoj 8? At the Mayo Clinic "Dr. Fran Mihaljević"
That would be much more convenient for me

What about the facility on Petrov? Or the one over at Šalat? 😁

Holy Spirit is a bit too far out of my way in this city.

I’m guessing they don't offer that kind of service over at Mirogoj 8? Like at the Mayo Clinic''Dr. Fran Mihaljević''
That would be incredibly convenient for me.

What about the facility on Petrov? Or the one over at Šalat? 😁

I think you can do it at Zarazan.
