Deletion and pro-Russia moderation in Ukraine is a constant issue

The post has already been deleted. And honestly, this isn't the first time my posts have been scrubbed without any legitimate reason, especially since they don't violate a single rule. It seems like only the pro-Russian stuff is allowed to stay.

On top of that, over in the Ukraine thread, QUill called me an idiot. Not only was my post wiped, but yesterday he’s back at it again, insulting me and calling me foolish, which is just unbelievable.
Here is more evidence; if you have any shred of decency or common sense left, maybe you'll stop this warfare.

I reported the post, but it’s still sitting there, likely going unmoderated just like those absolute idiots from a few days ago. I would like to ask the moderation team to clarify: is any opposition to the pro-Putin enthusiasts forbidden in the Ukraine and Russia threads? This biased moderation—allowing trolling, mockery, insults, and pro-Russian propaganda while purging anyone who dares to present the opposing view—has driven away everyone who tries to speak up. Konev posts massive walls of Google Translate nonsense in Russian that never get deleted, yet the opposition gets censored. The constant labeling of dissenters as "mercenaries" is tolerated as well.

Lugal constantly drops one-liners like this most recent one that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic, yet they aren't even flagged, let alone banned.

The moderation on those specific threads became a disaster a long time ago. Every attempt to file a complaint ends with the thread being promptly shut down, and then everything goes right back to business as usual. At this point, I can only assume that the editorial policy of this entire site is completely pro-Russian and pro-Putin.

It appears that even here, the first link—the one that was previously removed—has somehow broken for reasons unknown to me 🙄 so I’m reposting it. And just to be clear, no, the Moscow Times didn't take it down.

Mocking Ukrainian politicians with derogatory nicknames is a constant fixture here, too. Calling Poroshenko "Poroshenkonko" or "Kermit," or labeling the Ukrainian government a military junta or a fascist junta—those kinds of insults are practically treated as acceptable common knowledge on this board. Yet, the moment I used a slur against Putin, I received an immediate warning from the moderators that I was about to be banned by Cuka.

Reporting posts doesn't seem to achieve anything at all.

Frankly, it feels like I'm one of the last Mohicans left here who actually has the stomach to write on these topics without being pro-Russia. Everyone else has been effectively driven out by organized raids from pro-Russian trolls, all facilitated by biased moderation. You can see the evidence in the massive drop in engagement on these threads; it's just not fun anymore when you're only allowed to stroke the egos of people who already agree with you—even though Ukraine continues to dominate the news cycle every single day.

I honestly don't know how you find the motivation to post there. That Ukraine thread has turned into a total Russian-loving freak show run by four forum users. The mods over there have lost their way entirely, except for constantly praising Putin and wearing those "Russia" shirts.
The only moderator who stood up against that Russian circus was Roko, and they got rid of him real quick.

So this is how people handle discussions regarding the victims of the Holodomor on this thread. The moderation team just sits there letting this kind of hate speech slide—it’s a constant pattern here. All I did was mention that today marks the anniversary.
This level of aggression and blatant insult is a recurring issue, and unfortunately, the administration chooses to tolerate it. But since we are talking about Ukrainians, apparently nobody cares that the victims of this horrific atrocity are being insulted like this.

But here, users from Little Rock managed to turn even that into a troll session. If today is the anniversary, then I guess the Soviets starved 10 million people to death in a single day. Kudos to them; even Americans couldn't pull off something like that. Americans only manage to starve 3 million Africans to death per day.

There isn't a shred of respect left. If this were any other genocide, this post would have been nuked and the hate speech sanctioned immediately. But when it comes to Ukrainians, you're allowed to insult them without mercy, treating them like animals on this forum. I truly hope someone at the Ukrainian Embassy sees this and files a formal complaint.

tihobl is one of those high-quality posters over on the local news forums. He’s never been shy about being a Mexican from Little Rock—it’s right there in his profile—and he speaks with an accent. He did make one really nasty comment once about sniping some journalist out in the Donbas, so he got slapped with a week-long ban, which was totally fair if you ask me.

This whole thing is tied to how much current Ukrainian politics exaggerates everything regarding their history with the USSR. Even Solzhenitsyn, who was the harshest critic of the USSR, used to violently question these numbers, not to mention the whole purpose behind them.

When the current political vibe in Ukraine treats these figures like they're absolute gospel, common sense tells you something is definitely off.

We aren't going to get into the whole Ukraine debate right here. This thread has devolved into some pretty low-level nonsense, so I’m closing it down. Just hang tight while we go through some "renovations" and tighten up the rulebook a bit. Then, we'll get back to it.
