I’ve got one post here, but I was actually supposed to have two... A few nights ago, I wrote this really beautiful, heartfelt message to women who’ve decided they don't want kids—it was super emotional and sincere—but now, I just can't find it anywhere. Can someone tell me why that second post vanished? I honestly feel like someone went in and deleted it... Don't get mad at me, neighbors, I love music and I’m definitely not the type to hold a grudge, but seriously, why? Is it because I'm Mexican?? Look, I love listening to your Oliver and Bobby, and Vlatko Pokos is such a favorite of mine—I could go on all night listing names like Nina Badrić... I even loved Vana too... Come on, don't mess with me! Even if I messed up a little, you don't have to delete my stuff!

Posts get deleted or flagged if they break the subforum rules.

I really suggest checking out the rules for this forum and specific subforum before you start posting away.

If you’re wondering why a post vanished, just shoot a PM to one of the mods to ask.

I’m sitting here looking at my feed and realizing I’ve missed nearly 50 posts—and without a single notification to show for it.
It’s one of those things where you only notice the count has dropped right before you head to bed, but there’s no alert, no heads-up... you’re just left wondering which conversations actually happened while you weren't looking.

You just wake up, see the count is lower, but you don't get an alert or even a clue which ones vanished!

Glad someone finally brought this up, nimblescout50. It’s happening to me too, though not quite on that scale.
At first, I thought my memory was just failing me—then I actually started tracking the numbers. I'll log off at night with one post count, then wake up the next day and find 6 are gone. Sometimes it's 11, but usually it's just 2 or 3.
I figure it's older posts disappearing, since I've started saving everything in Word for at least five days—just a backup because of what happened when I first joined.

Anyway, all the new stuff I have backed up is still there, but as for which old posts specifically went missing? Who knows. I could save every single thing I write, but honestly, that's a massive pain... Don't sweat it too much, trust me.
Best,

Sorry to barge in here, but what does your post count on some random internet forum actually mean for your life? I honestly don't get why anyone would bother saving them in a Word doc 😵

Besides, half the mindless chatter threads end up being total garbage anyway—that’s probably one of the reasons people aren't posting as much lately.

Besides, half these pointless chat threads just end up getting deleted anyway, which is probably why everyone's posting less lately.

I guess you're right about that, but personally, I barely even touch those mindless chat threads.

(Drop by my usual spot on Reddit if you want to see why having a backup of your posts is actually a smart move 😁 )

At first, I honestly thought my memory was just playing tricks on me—you know how it goes when you start questioning your own sanity. But then I actually started tracking the numbers. It’s getting weird. Every night before I log off, I have a specific count of posts, and then the next day? It’s always down by six. Or sometimes eleven. Most of the time it’s just a dip of two or three, but the pattern is there. It's like watching a slow leak in a tire—you don't notice it immediately, but eventually, you realize you're running on rims.
I’ve got this feeling that the older posts are just vanishing into thin air—probably because I’ve started saving everything in Word first. I keep a five-day backup of my own stuff, at least... mostly because I learned my lesson from those glitches back when this place first started up. You learn how things work the hard way, I guess.

Anyway, I’ve got backups for most of those new posts—I'm keeping count—but as for which specific older ones actually vanished into thin air? Who knows. Honestly, it feels like chasing ghosts. My only real move is to archive every single thing I write, which is a massive, tedious chore... but that's just how it goes. At the end of the day, though, there's no sense in burning yourself out over it. Trust me.
Hey there. Hope you're doing alright.

I get it—that’s the real headache. Once you’ve been hunting for something for long enough, you lose track. You can't even tell which pieces are actually missing anymore because the search just drags on forever... it becomes this endless loop where you're basically guessing at what's gone.
It’s honestly a bit frustrating how things are run around here—I mean, the mods aren't really sending out any notifications or updates about where certain threads have moved to. It feels a little disorganized, if I'm being honest. It’s like when you’re driving down a highway in the Midwest and suddenly a road sign disappears right before a detour; you're just left guessing which way to turn while everyone else seems to know the route. A little heads-up goes a long way in keeping things from feeling chaotic.
Deleted posts. Look, they aren't just being scrubbed because they're "low quality" or whatever—there’s absolutely no reason for them to be vanishing into thin air like some kind of deep-state mystery.

Robert Cox46 said:Sorry to crash the party here, but I’ve gotta ask—what does having a certain number of posts on some random internet forum actually mean for your life? Honestly, I’m even more baffled by the people who apparently save them all in a Word document like it's some kind of digital trophy case. 😵

Honestly, a huge chunk of these mindless, low-effort threads just end up in the trash—which, if you think about it, is a pretty big reason why the total post count is dropping. It’s like watching water go down a drain... you expect something to happen, but it just disappears into nothingness.

I don't really do the whole forum chatting thing.
I honestly have my doubts—I really do—that anyone would actually care enough to complain about people just posting random chatter on the forums. It’s all part of the noise, isn't it?

The forum is undergoing constant cleanup, with old, redundant threads being removed. Consequently, some users might notice their total post count decreasing.
