I’d like an explanation as to why I was flagged for trolling on this thread, especially since the topic itself has been locked:

The issue is a piece published by several news outlets suggesting the use of vibrators and orgasm as a remedy for headaches and anxiety. There is actually scientific backing for this, yet the moderators have decided such a discussion is off-limits.

To be blunt, I don't particularly care about the strike against my account. If you think it’s justified, leave it. What I find baffling is why it's unacceptable for moderators to discuss female sexuality, orgasms, or vibrators—topics that are clearly linked by others to alternative treatments for conditions many women face. This isn't some fabrication of mine; it's documented in mainstream media. Therefore, I consider a discussion on the matter legitimate.

This level of censorship feels particularly strange on a forum that permits advertisements for countless dubious treatments—which, at best, do nothing, and at worst, result in fatalities, much like those highly publicized cases involving fraudulent holistic healers.
So, I am asking for the thread to be reopened to allow for constructive debate. We aren't at a strict religious boarding school or in middle school; there's no need to whisper or blush every time sex is mentioned.

Thanks in advance.

Your track record on the PDF boils down to skeptical preaching and constant provocation in every single thread, so it’s safe to assume that’s exactly what’s happening here too. Given the subject matter you picked, it fits the pattern perfectly. While we generally welcome all kinds of viewpoints in these debates, acting this way shouldn't be the whole point of starting threads on the fringe boards. To me, it just looks like trolling.

If you want to discuss female sexuality and orgasms through the lens of scientific research, you could suggest moving the topic over to the sociology, psychology, science, or health subforums. Whatever fits best. There isn't really anything "fringe" about any of that stuff.

On the contrary, dear bluemason3. My involvement here boils down to logic—the kind you claim to value—verifiable facts, and pushing for actual, reasoned dialogue. It’s a shame you don't encourage that with the rest of the users; if you did, this thread would actually have substance instead of serving as a marketing playground for scammers who drown out any logical stance with accusations of trolling and personal insults. In fact, this is the first thread I've started on this board in my two years on the forum.

But when we talk about controversial topics, was this sanction issued because of your personal bias against me, or because of an actual rule violation in the post?

If rules were broken, please explain exactly which ones and how, so we can avoid similar situations down the road.

bluemason3 said:Regarding discussions on female sexuality, orgasms, and related scientific research, you should suggest moving the topic to the lifestyle, psychology, science, or health boards. Whatever fits. There isn't really any "alternative material" involved in all of that.

Since we are discussing an alternative method for treating headaches, I maintain that this belongs in the Alternative Medicine sub-forum, not under lifestyle, psychology, or general health. Once it becomes part of mainstream medicine, feel free to move it there.

Besides, if that were truly your stance, you wouldn't have locked the thread and issued a penalty; you would have just moved it to the appropriate section, wouldn't you?

Thanks, ☕

Everyone seems convinced they’re doing the right thing. I don’t have much else to add beyond what’s already been said regarding our legal institutions and such... 😁

I expect nothing from "institutions." Once more, I am politely asking you to explain exactly which rules were broken in this thread. If you won't, fine. It's just a matter of basic decency.

William Diaz said:Actually, this is the very first thread I've started on this board in my two years on the forum.

First off, that’s just not true. This is actually your third thread here. You’ve got one under magic and mysticism, and this is your second under alternative healing. Honestly, claiming this is your first one tells you everything you need to know about your credibility.

As for this part—
William Diaz said:Since we're talking about an way to treat headaches outside conventional medicine, I still think this belongs in the Alternative Healing section, not under lifestyle, psychology, or general health. Once it becomes part of mainstream medicine, feel free to move it there.

By that logic, a thread asking if people cure hiccups by being startled would be perfect for this section too. I mean, it's not "medically recognized," right?

Honestly, this topic doesn't fit anywhere on the forum. Maybe the Lifestyle section or the Women's Corner, but even then, I doubt it would go over well.

You posted this in the alternative section just so the ladies could share their experiences with vibrators. Trying to frame it as a headache remedy doesn't make it any more appropriate for this category.
The whole thing smells like a troll post and it's totally pointless.

So, the decision is final.

And regarding your tone on the boards—look, there's nothing wrong with calling out sketchy marketing gimmicks. But I just went through your last 30 posts before replying, and 90% of them come off as condescending or provocative. Most aren't outright garbage, but they're definitely pushing it.
Just try to dial it back a bit. Be a decent human being.

There isn't much left to say about this thread.

William Diaz said:I don't expect much from "the administration." I'm asking nicely one more time: could you explain exactly which rules were broken in this thread? If you won't, that's fine. It's just a matter of common decency.

I’m not interested in getting stuck in an endless, pointless argument. Decisions here depend as much on moderator discretion as they do on "black and white" rules. Not everyone is treated the same way; a new user who's clearly lost would likely never get the warning you received as a "seasoned provocateur."

Someone who actually shows interest in different perspectives or maintains a genuinely reasonable skeptical stance (like dustyranger64, for example) might have actually left a useful post, perhaps linking it to a broader discussion. But I doubt it would have been framed this way. For someone whose only goal is to poke at people with fringe beliefs, it's a tough sell.

Call it bias if you want. Or call it knowing the situation and the users involved.

The warning itself tells the whole story. Trolling. You could claim rule violations regarding subforum etiquette or off-topic posting, or whatever else you want to pull. If you actually cared about the debate, I'm fairly certain you would have moved it to a more serious section for someone like you. Threads are opened to start discussions, no matter how foolish you think they are. They aren't created just to pick fights and provoke people, regardless of how smart you think you are.

Of course, there's always the possibility that you had a change of heart and truly intended to start a serious discussion—even if you justify it as "encouraging constructive debate" or "bringing reason to the skeptics." But nothing about this, including the topic choice, suggests that. So, I'll stick to my assessment.

My apologies. Please, forgive me. My credibility is clearly shattered because I managed to start three threads in two years.

bluemason3 said:In other words, some newcomer "lost on the forum" wouldn't get banned half as fast as an "old provocateur" like you.

The responses met my expectations perfectly. Thanks for the objectivity and for taking the time to explain exactly which rules I broke and proving you were right. I'll go head out and go kneel in a cornfield now. ☕
