How to search for specific keywords on the forum?

I was trying to look something up on the forum (specifically an ASUS ROG Maximus) since I remember seeing it mentioned in some old threads, but now I can't find any way to actually search. I recall being able to search ages ago. It's probably buried under some setting somewhere, but I honestly don't see it.

To be honest, I haven't had much luck finding specific info via the search function either. No matter what term I plug in, it just serves up about 15 pages of clutter that usually has nothing to do with my actual query.🙄

It really depends on what I’m actually hunting for. It’s a lot easier if you already have a hunch about which subforum the posts are buried in—specifically which thread they're tucked away in. Knowing who wrote it, whether the term is sitting in the subject line or just buried in the body text, or even just when it was posted... honestly, not every search is cut from the same cloth.

No, that’s not it at all. I never go looking for something when I’m already certain someone else has covered it—like when I can't quite recall which specific thread I saw it in. I think there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding there.

My process is usually much simpler. I’ll just type in a keyword—let's say, "Apple"—and then search to see if there's a dedicated discussion about it, or even just a few threads where the term pops up.

Look, why don't you just run the search based strictly on the title? You know, like "apple," "apples," or "apple's"—just throw a bunch of different variations in there. The forum's search engine usually picks up every single keyword anyway, so it shouldn't be much of a headache.

It would also be a huge help if the search function was available in American English (and if it is, does anyone know how I can enable it?)

Also, is there a way to tweak the search settings? I’d love to be able to toggle it so it searches through thread titles rather than scanning every single post. It would be great if I could do the same when searching for a specific username—instead of just finding the threads they started, I want to find every discussion they've actually participated in.

Well, to be honest, I’m running into a bit of an issue because my English isn't great.
Plus, I don't have a computer handy, so I can't exactly jump online every few minutes to look up definitions just to figure out what I'm supposed to be typing into each box.

Actually, Google is just the English term here. 😬

So, for instance—right under the Keyword field—it’s set to "search Entire Posts" by default, meaning it digs through the actual content. If you’re just looking for specific thread titles, you’ll want to switch that over to "search title only."
Up in the top right, there's the "search by user Name" option if you're hunting for something a specific Forum User posted. You can toggle that to decide whether you want to find individual posts or just the threads that particular person started.
Down at the bottom, you've got "show Results as: Thread / Posts." This is where you choose how you want the hits delivered—either as a direct link to the thread containing the post (handy if you're tracking down one specific comment, or if you just need the topic name) or as the actual post itself where your query showed up. It's basically an either/or situation.
On the right side, "search in forum(s)" is pretty self-explanatory—it's where you pick the scope. If you need to hit multiple sub-forums at once, just use Ctrl+click.
The other settings don't get used much, really... mostly just if you happen to remember roughly when a post was written or something along those lines.

P.S. Honestly, I have no clue how anyone struggles with basic English these days. 🤷
