What rule did I break and how?

I mean, I get it—this topic clearly wasn't the right fit for MK—but why wasn't it just moved to a more appropriate sub-forum instead of being wiped out entirely?
I actually put quite a bit of heart into several posts over there, and now they've just vanished without a trace...😢
If you decide to scrap an entire thread just because a few trolls decided to act up, aren't you essentially rewarding their behavior?

Well, there's been a similar thread floating around for quite a while now, one where everyone was debating whether we actually need to dump this topic into the trash bin...🤷

It honestly feels like just another case of that classic MK syndrome...🙄

I must confess that I simply could not devote the necessary amount of time to addressing that particular issue as thoroughly as the situation warranted. It truly required at least an hour of intensive moderation just to scrub away the trolls and those rather offensive, insulting posts that were cluttering the thread, especially considering how many genuinely high-quality contributions were being written amidst all that noise.
It truly pains me to see things have unfolded in such a manner, especially considering that had I possessed the immediate capacity to clear everything away right then and there, she would still be alive today. I cannot help but think that many others in this situation would have ended up facing nothing more than a stack of cardboard boxes as their only consequence. 😁

Let me be perfectly clear: the relocation of this discussion was by no means unmerited. I find the subject matter itself to be profoundly compelling, as it touches upon a very real sociological shift within our country. There truly are individuals who have no desire to become parents, some who find the very concept of childrearing to be quite off-putting, and others who simply choose to prioritize their professional ambitions and career trajectories far above the pursuit of starting a family.

And honestly, it often ends with people like that dying all alone, while they spend their final moments convinced the entire world is out to get them... 🙂

I wasn't even bringing up how the moderators handle things, I just meant it hasn't been that long since we've seen threads with great discussions get tossed into the bin rather than just being cleaned up and kept on MK...
Who's moving them there or what the reasoning is, I'm not really getting into that side of it...
Isn't it better for everyone if we try to make MK more engaging, instead of just cycling through the same old topics over and over again...🤷

The way I see it, it wasn't unfairly moved to where it is. The topic itself is actually super interesting to me, because there are definitely people who don't want kids, some find the idea repulsive, and others just prioritize their careers over starting a family...

Nobody expects the moderators to be online twenty-four seven, but if there are ten solid posts, that thread is worth saving...

Should a discussion of this nature ever be initiated again, I would personally endeavor to ensure its continuity and quality, just as my colleagues would certainly do. Sometimes such an undertaking succeeds brilliantly, while at other times it falters; after all, navigating these complex topics is often quite a treacherous and unpredictable road.

Look, just like how some women decide they don't want kids, I guess some admins just don't want certain topics around. It feels unnatural, honestly, and it makes my heart ache toward God, but hey, it's their right.
