But let’s be real, ticket prices have been climbing steadily lately. If we're sticking to your logic, that actually means older movies end up bringing in less revenue compared to what they would have back in the day😁

Comedies and animation are always the biggest hits. Seriously, what’s the hold-up with Balthazar? They should just put together a full-length animated feature starring him. Sounds wild, I know, but why not? Or even just bring back a series. I can't believe nobody's jumping on this. It would definitely be a hit and could even snag an award at a film festival in the Czech Republic. We've always been huge there. 🙂

It isn't just about needing more comedies; we need variety across every single genre. Though, if you ask me, the tide is finally starting to turn. 😁
For the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, you've got David Kapac submitting a horror flick titled ''Regional specialty'', Irena Škorić is bringing an erotic drama called ''7 Sex 7'', and Kušan is set to show ''Chicken and ghost'', among many others... we'll see if that list actually changes things. 🙂

Does anyone happen to know what the viewership numbers look like for Lavanderman?

"Small Town Secret" would be a killer title for a horror flick. And honestly, this erotic one isn't half bad either. At least these titles sound halfway normal compared to some of the garbage we used to put out back in the day. I’ve always had a massive problem with American movie titles. They just genuinely pissed me off, starting all the way back with *The Cleaners*. 👍

The truth is, there's hardly any appetite for domestic productions—besides, we don't make populist fluff here.

Regarding that first point, I’m holding out hope that things will shift in that direction sooner rather than later. As for the second matter... I can tell you with absolute certainty that the change is already underway. 😁

@brightcobra/">@@brightcobra - You can't just take an average price and start multiplying it like that. It's lazy math. You have to factor in inflation, because a dollar back in '96 doesn't hold nearly the same weight as a dollar today. 😉

Out of all those American films, I’ve really only sat through two😁 the first and the third, though maybe there’s another one floating around in my head that I just can’t recall right now🙂

I honestly don't think this profit has anything to do with who you know; I'm pretty sure even Bresan mentioned back in the day that his... A rat on an island. Nah. It actually turned a profit in American theaters (yeah, even with that measly turnout of 337,000 viewers). In other words, not a single American film—from the early days of independence up to right now—has managed to actually break even on its investment.

By the way, how many viewers did Matanicev actually pull in? Mother Asphaltless than Forest SummarumDoes anyone actually have the exact figures on this?

I find it hard to believe that even "How the West Was Won..." didn't recoup its investment. IMDb says this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116739/ , and while I have no clue if that's accurate, if what you're saying is true (which it probably 😁), then we are looking at a total C A T A S T R O P H E!!
In my opinion, what we actually need is a low-budget production (under 100 $0.00—the lower, the better) that’s actually interesting. A horror flick, a comedy, or anything that genuinely captures the interest of the American public and would actually see a return on investment!

Regarding "Mother Asphalt," the only data available is that it drew 1,433 viewers over two weeks; beyond that, there's nothing... I'm not sure if it was only in theaters for two weeks or what?

Skyfall pulled in nearly 60,000 people during its opening weekend here in the States.
