Okay, but do I have to pay for that myself, or will Blue Cross cover it since it involves a deviated septum?

What’s the absolute minimum age for this surgery? I’m only 16 right now, and I realize it might be a bit early to be asking these things, but I’ve been certain about getting my nose done for a few years now. 😬 Someone on the first few pages of this thread mentioned that you shouldn't go through with it until you're at least 22 because of bone development and everything... 😕
But isn't 18 an option?

Can't you just get it done at 18?

You can definitely do it at 18, and honestly, I know a girl who went through with hers when she was only 16 or 17.

If that's the case, then that's great news.
I was really planning on waiting until I turned 18 before doing anything at all. 😁

My cousin had her surgery when she was only 15, about five years ago... the doctor told us that once she hit her period, maybe around age 15, she'd be good to go.

Look, from the front, it looks gorgeous, but if you catch the profile view, you can tell there’s still a ton of swelling... especially at the tip. I’ve always said that specific "bulbous" tip area is the stubborn one. It takes the longest to settle down. In my experience, it took me about five months before things actually started looking normal. 🙂
Honestly, it already looks great, and in a few months, it’s going to look absolutely perfect. 😍 👍

Women aged 17 and men aged 18—or at least, that’s how things seem to operate within the walls of the General Hospital.

It looks great already, but give it a few more months and it’ll be absolutely perfect 😍 👍

Thanks, sweetie. Honestly, as long as it's better than what I started with, I'm happy. It's great 😁 though I have to mention that I've got some subcutaneous bumps that make it look a bit uneven, and I managed to squeeze out some of those tiny whiteheads... plus my skin tone is a bit uneven right now, so just keep all that in mind :P

Oh, one more thing... my doctor didn't say anything about needing any drainage??

I have to agree with rustygardener172 😁 your nose looks amazing, especially from the front view.
Mine has a bulbous look from the front 🙄 and one side is significantly more swollen and painful than the other. I’ve actually stopped obsessing over my nose lately, but suddenly that left side started aching and stinging—it isn't intense pain, per se, just a weird discomfort or something... I guess.

Has anyone else experienced nose pain starting about a month and a half after surgery 😕 or has anyone noticed their tip being thicker on one side than the other? 😕

Hey everyone!
Just thought I’d check in..
My nose and I are doing fine.. sleeping on my stomach, breathing easy, getting through the workday.. no major setbacks so far.
The only thing is, my nose looks a little crooked right now. I’m chalking that up to the fact that it’s only been two weeks and there are still stitches inside—it feels like there's more tension on the right side.🙂 Plus, the doctor told me I’ve still got some swelling. I can't really see it myself, but she’s an ENT and could tell just by looking at my neck, so I guess we'll take her word for it.😉
I also found out something I wasn't expecting: apparently, I have to go back in to get the stitches removed. They aren't the dissolvable kind, so they won't just fall out on their own... and here I was thinking....🙂 I mean, since they stitched through the cartilage, they aren't exactly going to just pop out, right?
Anyway, just wanted to give a quick update...
Hope you're all doing well, whether you're hanging out at the beach or just relaxing wherever you are.🙂😉

My nose is actually very similar to yours in your profile photo. My surgeon told me the swelling hasn't fully subsided yet and it will continue to shrink, but honestly? Even now, I am thrilled with the results 🙂 Yours looks lovely to me as it is right now 👍👍👍

Ashley Gomez As I was saying—and please, bear with me, I know I tend to wander—it seems that...
I’m standing right behind rustygardener172 on this one. 😁 Honestly, your nose looks fantastic—especially from a profile view.
My thing is shaped like a sphere from the front. 🙄 One side is significantly more swollen and painful than the other. I’ve actually stopped worrying about my nose for a moment—because now, out of nowhere, there's this constant, nagging discomfort and a sharp, stabbing sensation on my left side. It isn't exactly an intense pain, per se, but more of a persistent, irritating discomfort... or something like that, I suppose.

Has anyone else dealt with their nose starting to ache again after about a month and a half post-op? 😕 ...or maybe someone whose peak was just one notch higher on one side. 😕

Sometimes it just gives me this little twinge of pain—you know? And honestly, I can't even bring myself to touch it without feeling a bit awkward about it, haha. As for that part about one side being thicker than the other... look, that’s perfectly normal. It’ll level out eventually. Even in my own case, the left side feels a bit thicker—more swollen, really—which is exactly why I decided to go ahead and ask around. 🙂

So, I woke up this morning, and out of nowhere—just completely out of thin air—everything went black. My vision just failed me, and before I could even process what was happening, I collapsed onto the floor. I started shaking uncontrollably, too. Honestly, once I finally came to, I was just sitting there completely bewildered... I had no idea what had actually happened. I lost consciousness. This has NEVER happened to me before in my entire life. Now, I can't help but worry—could this be some kind of delayed reaction to that surgery I had three weeks ago, back on July 11th? Has anyone else here ever experienced something this terrifying?

For the ladies who have already gone through the consultation with Dr. Miller, I’ve got my appointment scheduled for late September. I was wondering, does anyone know which credit cards allow you to split the cost into monthly installments?
Also, is it true that the aesthetic procedure runs about $1,600? I’m trying to map out my budget so I know roughly what to expect... thanks!

I can't say I've been through that personally, but I don't quite trust this. You should head to the doctor immediately; it feels like something you definitely shouldn't ignore. Take care!

I’m not sure about the card situation—I just paid cash. But honestly, the guy is super chill about how you pay... you can pretty much work out a deal with him if you need to.
Mine ended up being closer to $1,700... that included both the functional fix and the cosmetic touch-ups.
Good luck!!

I honestly feel like a whole new person after that surgery.
The biggest change hasn't even been physical—it’s been entirely psychological! While they didn't go overboard on the cosmetic side of things, the boost to my mental health has been massive. I don't find myself trying to hide my nose anymore; if anything, I’m actually feeling really confident about it! ☕

I’m inclined to agree that it probably shouldn't have anything to do with the surgery. 🤷 Though, I suppose I did have those moments where I felt like I was about to pass out myself, but since I hadn't had much of an appetite and was barely eating anything, I just assumed that was the cause.

I haven't heard of anyone experiencing that specifically because of a procedure, though feeling weak is par for the course. That part about the shaking sounds more serious, though. You should definitely head to the doctor; better safe than sorry.

Thanks for all the input, everyone.. 😉

I'm also curious about how other people react post-op... some of you mentioned that most people won't even notice anything was done unless they're close to you. Since my nose is being straightened by about 2 millimeters, I'm really trying to gauge how obvious it will be. My biggest concern isn't the look, but the social fallout. I am not the type of person who enjoys "explaining" myself when people start asking, "Oh, why did you do that?" or "You shouldn't have..." I don't have the patience for those conversations, so my standard response is probably going to be a blunt, "Just because." 😁
I'm mostly thinking about my classmates and people at my university lectures—the kind of acquaintances where you're polite because you're colleagues, but that's it. I just want to know how much mental fortitude I need to pack for. 😂
