..I'm honestly not sure how else to title this, and I apologize if starting a thread like this isn't allowed.

The thing is... back when we used the PDF on BlackBerry, we had access to an incredible service provided by the ESPN crew, where they would broadcast high-quality streams of all those shows we can't seem to find through any of the usual links being advertised on the thread.
It was essentially a custom service requested and facilitated by the community members.

Now, we've lost that entire option because a user—who also happens to be part of the ESPN team—got banned from the forum for "advertising," even though he wasn't looking for business; we were the ones asking him for the help.
And since the moderators themselves used his links and went through him, everything stopped.
Given how specific the PDF is regarding how links and streams are handled, and considering they were actually doing us a favor, I just don't get why this move was made.
Besides, from day one, every single available thread has been linking to these streams, and everyone uses them... even though, yes, we all know Reddit doesn't officially support linking out to other forums.

Is there any chance this was just a mistake or perhaps a case of the rules being applied a bit too zealously? Is there any way the ban could be lifted so we can get those streams back?
Because if not, we might as well just throw in the towel.😢

Thanks for understanding.

Exactly. I’m protesting.
Look, this year’s BlackBerry season is just weird. There’s zero live TV coverage, no 24/7 coverage—we're basically at the mercy of whoever feels like streaming. And now that we finally get a decent stream, thanks to the way this Reddit community is run, we don't even have 🙏.

Not to mention how all those streams are being linked constantly, and what a mess it is. So then we get links from some "good samaritan" along with the exact broadcast times, and... big deal?
Yeah, yeah, I know the rules. No linking to other forums. We get it. But this is a unique situation, especially for us BlackBerry addicts 😠 😠

Yep, I’ve officially lost it. I want a real stream. That Justin guy's stuff is unwatchable...

I am fully in support of this protest. In fact, I think we should all chip in $50 a month to support everyone involved—including the folks over at Reddit.
Just because someone chooses to share information doesn't mean they're doing it for personal gain; after all, none of us are seeing a dime from this.
For instance, here is a link to a documentary regarding the Battle of Midway:

The thing is... back when we used the PDF on BlackBerry, we actually had this arrangement—essentially a service, I suppose—where the crew over at ESPN would provide us with incredibly high-quality streams for all those shows we can't seem to catch through any of the other links usually advertised here.
It was basically an on-demand service based on requests from the community members.

But now, we've lost that option entirely because a user—who also happens to be part of the ESPN team—got banned from the forum for "advertising"... which, if I recall correctly, he wasn't even soliciting; we were the ones asking him!
And, well, the moderators were using his links too, so they were essentially going through him.
Given how specific the PDF is regarding the promotion of links and streams, and considering they were actually doing us a favor, I just don't quite grasp the logic behind this move.
Besides... from day one, every single relevant thread has contained links to streams, and everyone uses them... even though, yes, we are all aware that Reddit doesn't officially support linking out to other forums.

Is there any chance this is just a mistake—perhaps a case of the rules being applied a bit too zealously? And, I mean, is there any way that user's ban could be lifted so we can get those streams back?
Because if not, we might find ourselves in a bit of a 😢

Thanks for understanding.

I'm standing with my colleague Karen Patel53 on this one, as well as the crew at ESPN, who—for nearly 80 days now—have been providing us with the best broadcasts available via the BlackBerry setup.

I’m adding my voice to the request. 😍

Every single day, there's a flood of links to various streaming sites, most of which are broken or just plain unreliable. It's been frustratingly inconsistent; while ESPN occasionally delivers a decent picture, FOX has shut down its access entirely, and trying to find a reliable stream for Univision online feels like playing the lottery.

Please, give us the 🙂 🙂 🙂 we need.

Every single day, there's just an endless flood of links being tossed around to all these random streaming sites—most of which, let's be honest, are either glitchy or just straight-up broken. It's exhausting. So far, the only one that actually provided a decent picture was ESPN, whereas FOX basically shut down all access, and trying to catch Univision online? Well, that’s basically like playing the lottery.

Please, just give us the necessary dose of 🙂 🙂 🙂

And honestly, since these links are being posted constantly anyway, I feel like this could have been handled a bit more gracefully—maybe with a warning instead of an immediate ban—if the concern was really just about people "over-promoting" things too much.

So, get this—soundvision is officially going on a banning spree. They’re targeting anyone who’s ever dropped a link to a stream in a BlackBerry thread. Apparently, they’ve already started cracking down in full force... ☕

We aren't looking to stir the pot or call anyone out, because at the end of the day, we're all just human and humans make mistakes.

I’m honestly just asking the admins to make an exception and find a way to keep the link active because the user is being incredibly difficult, and since one thing is tied directly to the other, it really shouldn't be this complicated.

I’m all for it!

The guy was as polite as they come. He wasn't out there shouting slogans or anything like that. He just let people know when he was streaming, just like most other users on Reddit. He also jumped into discussions a few times, acting just like any other regular member here.

Nice work

thanks

I'm hoping there won't be any issues with linking streams moving forward, though I don't expect much trouble with anything else
