Best ways to convert PDF to Word and Excel?

Hey there,

Does anyone have a good recommendation for software that converts PDFs into Word or Excel files?
Specifically, can it pull tables from a PDF directly into Excel?

I’ve been using Adobe Acrobat Pro in the past, but I'm wondering if there's actually something better out there than Adobe...

My main goal is just finding something that does a high-quality job so I don't waste a ton of time manually retyping everything...

Well, there is Adobe Acrobat—though it isn't free. It actually performs quite a bit better than the older versions of Adobe Acrobat, but I suppose you shouldn't expect perfection given how messy PDF structures can be.

There is simply no way to extract the original Excel file with all its formulas intact. These conversion tools usually manage to recognize a table, but they mostly just see it as a disorganized cluster of numbers and letters.

Thanks, I wasn't even expecting it to catch the formulas, but honestly, if it could just recognize the table formats and the numbers inside them, I'd be pretty happy!

Btw, does anyone know of a program that can take text in a Word doc written in American and swap it over to English?
I've got this massive pile of documents in American that I need translated into English... I know about Google Translate, but doing constant copy-pasting is such a pain...

Is there anything out there like that?
