Here is the issue I am facing:
I don’t have high-speed broadband (Web and Walk), but for some reason, links on this forum take an eternity to load.
It usually goes like this: I click on a thread and just sit there waiting... and waiting... That little icon showing the data transfer from the internet suddenly flatlines... and I just wait, and wait...
Eventually, I lose my patience and pull out my USB drive, and wouldn't you know it? Poof! There's the page, right in front of me!
So now I’m left wondering, why on earth wouldn't that page display until I physically pulled the stick? What exactly is this forum trying to do to my computer, or what is it trying to inject into it?
I am using Firefox and I have blocked Gemius (by the way, what kind of intrusive junk is that?)
If this isn't the right place for a discussion like this, feel free to move it to the wider web.

It seems I’m shouting into a void here; nobody is paying any attention to my inquiries.

Hello, moderators. Would it be possible to move this thread to a different sub-forum where there might actually be some engagement or a response?

Have you actually run a speed test on your connection yet?
I honestly don't think the forum is trying to pull anything from your computer. Sometimes the server itself just acts up and throws errors, or things just feel sluggish when pages are loading.
But since you're running everything off a thumb drive, did it ever cross your mind that maybe the drive's read speed is just dragging you down?

I highly doubt this forum is trying to harvest anything from your computer. Occasionally, the issue lies with the server hosting the site throwing errors, or perhaps just general latency issues when loading pages.
But since you're running everything off a USB drive, did it ever occur to you that the drive itself might be the bottleneck?

Please, for the sake of everyone involved, read the posts you are responding to.

If you're feeling too hesitant to post openly on the forum, feel free to reach out to me directly via private message instead.
It seems rather unlikely that absolutely nobody has an opinion on this.

Maybe try asking over here at some point. I’m certainly no expert—far from it, actually.
But there you go, just so you know someone is actually paying attention to you. 🙂

I truly appreciate the gesture, but I’ve already put this exact question out there and, frankly, nobody gave a damn about it... 😛rsti:
