Why does it feel like this thread is constantly being targeted, and could someone please consider reopening it, given that I truly believe its value outweighs at least 70% of the other discussions happening on this forum? Wouldn't it be more productive to simply appoint a new moderator instead of handling things this way?

Because let’s be honest, nobody on this specific thread ever follows the rules. We’ve swapped out enough moderators to prove the issue isn't the staff—it's you guys. We aren't going to spend our time babysitting you anymore.

The thread remains closed.

Could we please keep this thread open until the process is finished, specifically for the list of people heading to the Police Academy? It would be wonderful if we could all share our thoughts and exchange experiences while we wait... 🙄

Sure, you can all moan about how a million people failed their physical exams because they were right there in the group with you—you know 100% they flunked. Then, a different faction emerges, claiming those people only failed due to their own lack of effort, and you start trolling the thread just to get a rise out of people... until the mods step in, hand out bans, and everything goes quiet for a week or two depending on the length of the ban. Then, a new batch of users pops up—clones—who act extra careful about criticizing the government, the police, the Police Academy, the Department of Corrections, or anyone with connections... ☕

I couldn't keep an eye on this thread for more than 24 hours without a total meltdown occurring. Even when I didn't have time to moderate the entire PDF, I made sure to check the status at the Police Academy.
Basically, there are now two locked threads titled Police Academy, through which a parade of characters has marched—probably clones of clones of clones, honestly, I don't care. And every single thread likely had about half its posts deleted—between the trolling about nepotism, the mutual insults, the bashing of the aforementioned list, the spamming just to pass the time, and the flirting*.

I actually advised you guys ages ago to just start your own thread in Off-topic, but for some reason, nobody took the hint. 🤷

The battle over this thread has been dragging on for what feels like over a year now.
I took over managing you all five months ago, and during that whole time, I’ve been issuing warnings, giving strikes, and eventually resorting to direct bans, but people just kept doing whatever they wanted. Plus, I wiped out a few clones myself, though I left even more alone simply because I was feeling lazy. Mea culpa.
Before me, Karen Jones68 fought with you for months too—warnings, strikes, bans—nothing worked.
Before her, darkmaker94 fought you for months as well—warnings, strikes, bans—nothing.

So, tell me one single reason why this thread should even exist.

* most people don't even know since everything was being deleted so fast; only the ones who participated actually know

p.s. I've said it several times already, but it doesn't hurt to repeat. The thread is called Police Academy. It's strictly for people who want to get into the Academy, people who are already enrolled, and maybe the occasional officer. In other words—people who (theoretically) uphold order, peace, and the laws of this country. But the people in this thread weren't even capable of following basic forum rules.

p.p.s. A quick story from real life. The other day, a friend asks if I know anything about the Academy because her middle school friend wants to join.
I tell her—honey, you've stumbled upon a gold mine; I know everything from A to Z about it. 🙏
She says—oh okay, just send me the link, I'll dig through the info myself.
I say—look, I can give you the link, but the thread is... well... not exactly informative...
She says—just give me the link.
Okay, I shoot her the link, and she gets back to me a few minutes later—ugh, what on earth did you send me? 😂😂 I am not reading all that...🙏

This thread really should have been structured so that people who don't even post on the forum could read it, but you guys simply wouldn't allow it. Even seven-day bans didn't mean a thing to you.

I honestly found this thread incredibly helpful, especially since I could dive into everyone else's experiences before heading into my testing and my medical exams. If there isn't a reason to keep this going, wouldn't it make more sense to just move it to a different sub-forum or perhaps start a fresh topic and simply link back to this one? We've all grown so used to finding everything right here, so why does starting something new always feel like such an uphill battle?

Thread stays locked.

Smart move. 🙂

Back when I was moderating the Department of Corrections section, that same thread was a total nightmare. Constant bickering and insults every single day. From what I can see, none of the warnings, bans, or deletions actually made a dent.

Back when I was moderating the Department of Corrections section, that specific thread caused more headaches than anything else. Isn't it strange how constant bickering and insults can persist regardless of how many warnings, bans, or deletions we implement? It felt like nothing actually worked.

If you consider the rest of the forum a breeze, 😁 then this was definitely the absolute worst topic we ever had to deal with. 👍

Honestly, this has been one of the worst moderation headaches I've ever dealt with. 😁

Locking a thread is always the absolute last resort, but clearly, there’s no other way to handle things here. At the end of the day, though, you all brought this on yourselves.

Honestly, it might be worth sending a link to this entire thread to someone actually in charge over at the Police Academy, just so they can take a good, long look at who they're letting through the doors to become future officers of the law.

If it's not needed anymore, maybe just move it to another sub-forum or start a new one and just link back to this old one... we're all used to finding everything right here, so starting from scratch is tough....

Maybe it helped you, but it’s over now regardless. The experiences are posted, the physicals are done, the medicals are passed, people have been called... and that's that.
I noticed you didn't have a single warning on this thread, which is actually pretty impressive—you were probably one of only two or three people out of about 30 who actually followed the rules.

And yeah, darkmaker94 is right—this is the worst thread on the entire PDF.
We are the Student Corner—there isn't supposed to be bickering or personal opinions here. We're an information-based PDF meant to serve as a resource for both active forum members and those just lurking.

@ hollowtrucker77
Yeah, if they actually put in the effort to read it, they would've caught it. They let one person run a whole solo conversation in the thread—all the clones always agreed perfectly with the original handle. 😁

Hey, would anyone be able to give me a hand with some info regarding high school enrollment for the Police Academy? Specifically looking at what it takes to get in for junior and senior year.
I'm just trying to wrap my head around the requirements.
