Broke, blue, and burnt out...

Hey there
We just got our December bill from the NYC Berkshire Hathaway utility company for water and trash pickup, but I noticed something weird. Down at the bottom on that little confirmation slip on the right side, there's this tiny, barely visible note that says, "BALANCE DUE: xyz,xx dollars"
Does anyone know how I can figure out which month this actually refers to, or what the best way is to go about paying it off?
