They’re probably going to shut you down here too, because it’s pretty obvious they’ve decided to kick out anyone who doesn't fall in line with whoever is leading things now. But seriously, being a moderator shouldn't mean running a dictatorship. This whole thing feels like a cheap, arrogant imitation of authoritarianism. Honestly? I am explicitly AGAINST turning "Life in America" into a dumping ground for mindless chatter about Thanksgiving!!!

There’s zero reason to force the entire "American diaspora" into one single thread every time a specific topic pops up.

Besides, we already have multiple threads covering different sides of living in the USA, so there's really no need to be this stubborn about it.

I honestly wonder if there’s even anyone left posting in here. 🤣 Like, is anyone actually active anymore (aside from the mods, assuming they even exist 🤣)? I don't get why a thread about Thanksgiving—literally the biggest holiday in the USA—would bother anyone. 😕😕😕 Remember how much nonsense was in that old PDF? Nobody ever complained back then. We’d talk about everything from the price of milk and bread to cars, just whatever. Man, those were the days! Honestly, we should probably just start a private Facebook group (look, I’m not exactly a Facebook person, but I can't think of anything else) where people can actually talk about whatever they want without someone constantly whining, deleting posts, or shutting things down. 🙂

The thing is, people specifically asked for a dedicated discussion thread within the American diaspora community, so they got exactly what they requested. Now, apparently, we're expected to spin off forty different threads for every single upcoming holiday, switching back and forth between English and American slang, just flooding the system.
