Seeing flashes in my vision?!

Over the last week, I've been getting these visual disturbances—flashing lights in my field of vision that blur everything—followed by a sudden, dull ache on the right side of my head. It usually lasts for a few hours. Does anyone know if this could just be related to low blood pressure, or should I go ahead and make an appointment with my doctor?

Could be a migraine.
