Norton update ERROR

I'm running into an issue where my Norton won't update...

Have you tried just killing Norton and restarting it?
Maybe your internet connection dropped out while the update was downloading.
When does the license actually expire?

My current license still has five days left, but I've tried entering the new ones that just came out and none of them are working. I keep getting hit with the exact same error message every single time...

I've been using those licenses that end in TRIAL-*******—just grabbing a new one every month—and it’s worked fine for a few months now, but suddenly everything is starting to glitch out on me.

I'm guessing you didn't actually have a legitimate, paid license to begin with, and I doubt these ones you're trying to install are genuine either. Norton has been doing a massive sweep to wipe out those kinds of keys lately, so maybe it’s worth considering just buying a real license or perhaps switching to a different antivirus altogether.🙄

Here’s my two cents—just go ahead and buy an genuine license... or honestly, just grab some kind of free antivirus and call it a day... 😉

Here’s the fix:

I reset everything back to the factory defaults and ran the update...

And now it works perfectly. 🙂

See? You really shouldn't jump to conclusions before you've actually tried the obvious steps.

Yeah, but that’s not really the point...
Look, I used to run a cracked version of ESS for a while and everything was totally fine until... well, Windows absolutely nuked itself on me... 🙄
One thing's for sure though... just go out and buy an official license (I think it's around $100, if my memory serves) and you won't have to deal with this crap all year long... 😉

It’s like I’m hitting a brick wall here—no matter what username or password I try to plug in, the system just flat-out rejects them all. I’ve gone through the whole process of disabling everything, trying to clear the path, and then I carefully enter my credentials, but still... absolutely nothing happens. It’s just total silence from the software. Does anyone have any idea how to actually fix this?

The safest way to fix this is actually laid out right in the post above yours. 🙂

I heard there’s some kind of patch out there that resets the trial period, basically letting you run it indefinitely. I think it’s called Marafix or something along those lines.

P.S.: If you actually decide to shell out for a license, just go with Kaspersky. It works better for me, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks so.
