Is there any chance we could see a significant boost in the number of moderators over at Politics? Honestly, whenever a massive topic starts heating up, the whole thread just becomes an absolute mess—just a mountain of insults and off-topic rambling flying back and forth from both sides! I try my best to report things when they get out of hand, and it feels like the mods do step in eventually, but it often seems like it happens a bit too late, especially given how intense things can get 🤷

Well, just a few hours ago, I submitted a report regarding a post where an individual was explicitly making threats about burying someone two meters underground.

As you all know, this is such a major talking point right now, and I truly believe it deserves a little more focus and discussion from the community.

There is quite a bit written in here, and honestly, it is all too easy to get caught up in the trolling when things start heating up in those heated debates. But we shouldn't overlook the people who actually put in the effort—the ones trying to provide real information, offer clear explanations, work through a consensus on a topic, or share a helpful link. I really wish we could maintain a more balanced atmosphere, rather than letting the vibe be dictated by those few individuals who just churn out repetitive, mindless comments like programmed bots.
It feels like we’re getting hit from all sides today, honestly. It’s almost funny how tourists come to Washington, D.C., thinking they have endless shopping options, only to see a Walmart and immediately assume we’re stuck in some outdated, socialist era. It’s just one of those silly little misconceptions that keeps popping up.

We try to stay on top of things, but sometimes it’s just an impossible task. Over 1,000 posts have flooded this thread since yesterday evening, and unless you have nerves of steel and superhuman reading speed, things inevitably slip through the cracks. Thankfully, the reporting tool helps us catch what we miss at first glance.

I don't think you guys quite grasp the sheer scale of the volume we're dealing with here... Yesterday alone, there were roughly 1,100 posts—and that’s after 214 of them were scrubbed and a few threads were split up just within this single topic. We're looking at an average of 50 posts an hour; once you factor out those dead hours in the middle of the night, it jumps to over 60 per hour—basically one post every single minute. During peak hours? It hits even harder, maybe upwards of 100 an hour.
I personally cleared out eight of those bottom-feeders around 3:32 PM, and then went back for more about half an hour later. I definitely missed a few, which I've just gone ahead and cleaned up now.

And there’s that signature from Sarah Wilson95—the one I somehow manage to misclick at least twenty times a day because I'm moving too fast, which inevitably lands me right on YouTube. It's basically burned into my browser cache at this point. 😬
