I'm looking to pick up some solid photo editing software and I've narrowed my choices down to two specific programs that caught my eye:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Photoshop Elements

Could someone give me a quick rundown on how they actually differ from one another?

Think of Photoshop Elements as the stripped-down version of the full Photoshop—it’s definitely got fewer bells and whistles.

Here’s the word from Adobe:
Photoshop Elements is a consumer product. It's made for users who don't need as many features and complex options. It has a simpler design, guided workflows, and an organizer to help you manage your files.

Honestly, you're better off just grabbing the full version of Adobe Photoshop rather than some stripped-down version that leaves out all the good stuff. I've been using it for ages now... it's basically become second nature. You can find tons of beginner tutorials online—just dive in, get a handle on how the tools and layers work, and you'll be up to speed before you know it.
