Hey everyone!
I’m looking to pick up a new sound card and could really use some expert advice from the community.
Up until now, I’ve just been relying on the Intel onboard audio that came with my ASUS ROG motherboard. I’ve been running my Klipsch home theater system via a coaxial connection.
I’ve set aside a budget somewhere between $300 and $167. Right now, I’m torn between these two options:
Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Audio
Creative Sound Blaster
From what I can gather online, if I go with the Creative Labs option, I might need a specific external module to handle digital connections through optical or coaxial cables—but I haven't been able to track down where to actually buy one.
Can anyone clarify how this digital output setup works with an extra module? Specifically, what kind of price tag am I looking at, and where can I find one?
Also, if you have any better suggestions for a sound card in this price range, please don't be shy—lay them on me! =)
Thanks!
