I can't get a single game to run on this laptop. Every time I try to launch one after installation, I just get hit with a message saying macOS has stopped the process and won't execute the .exe file. I've already installed all the drivers, and everything looks perfectly fine in the Device Manager...

That’s a pretty weak crack.

Why does every single game I try to install come pre-cracked?

If the legit apps are running fine, then you know where the issue lies. Just grab a free game—make sure it’s the official version—and give it a shot. Maybe try one of these...

If your free-to-play games are running fine and everything else on your system seems stable, then you're likely looking at a cracked file. You might want to run some diagnostics on your RAM and check your macOS installation too. I just hope you aren't running some kind of custom, pro-tier macOS build...

I'll let you know once I've had a chance to test out these original titles..

I’m not totally sure if I should be starting a whole new thread here because maybe someone already posted about this, but since you guys actually know what you're talking about when it comes to this kind of stuff, I figured I'd just ask:

Has anyone ever run into this weird error during a game install? It keeps popping up on my screen: Decompression failed with error code - 12

Double check that you're running on an NTFS file system. Right-click "This PC," hit properties, and look under the general tab. If it doesn't say NTFS, you won't be able to save anything over 2GB. Also, that unpacking error usually means the download didn't actually finish... hope that helps.

Here's what Google says. Assuming you can read English, if it's not working, the file probably didn't download completely. Or maybe it was just a bad upload from the start...

I’m leaning toward the second option... I mean, my partition is NTFS and the game is sitting at 37GB, so who knows? It just doesn't make any sense to me how everyone else managed to get this installed while I'm stuck staring at this error message. Anyway, thanks so much for the help.

I know this is totally off-topic, but I honestly don't get why people insist on splitting "laptop" into two separate words. "Lap" refers to the leg/fold area, and "top" is obviously the lid or upper part. How we collectively decided those two words needed a space just to describe one single device will remain an eternal mystery to me.

Like you said, you're drifting pretty far off topic here... This little lecture of yours isn't actually doing anything to solve the problem we were discussing. Next time I run into a software glitch, maybe I'll remember that I need to type on my laptop while simultaneously holding it together. Though, honestly? I doubt that'll change much of anything.
