So, over the last month or so, whenever I have a few drinks—maybe two or three glasses, or even more than that...—I start getting this intense itching under my eyes and around my eyelids later on, or sometimes even the next day, and then everything just starts swelling up 🤷😕
.
I honestly can't tell if I've suddenly developed some weird allergy or what... I mean, washing my face with chamomile tea for a couple of days seems to help a little, but I’m totally lost here... am I supposed to just give up alcohol entirely now or what?! 😕

At first, I figured maybe it was some kind of pollen or something since I'd been spending time outdoors... then I thought maybe it was that heavy red wine I had... but then it happened after having beer, too...

I have no clue if this is something that's going to get worse or if it'll just pass... should I actually go see a doctor about it?

I mean, if you’re actually struggling with an alcohol problem, you really ought to talk to a doctor 😬

Personally, I suspect it might just be a spring thing—maybe some mild allergies acting up in tandem with the drinking.

Personally, I’m leaning towards this being some weird combo of spring allergies and booze... just everything hitting at once.

I mean, I honestly thought it was a springtime thing too...
and I’m definitely not an alcoholic or anything, but the idea of never being able to enjoy a single drink again without my eyes turning into literal donuts sounds like a nightmare...

It’s actually quite common for people to deal with some swelling after drinking, though perhaps not always directly caused by the larger amounts consumed.
If there happens to be an underlying seasonal allergy issue at play, that will likely surface soon enough since spring is just around the corner here in the States.
When it comes to mitigating the effects of alcohol, staying incredibly well-hydrated with plenty of water is really your best bet. You might also find success using compresses, or even trying alternating rinses with hot and cold water—though leaning more heavily on the cold side usually helps more!
Does this swelling only seem to happen specifically when you've been drinking?
