Hey everyone... so, I’ve been dealing with some pain lately and I honestly thought it was my ovaries acting up. But when my OBGYN did an ultrasound, they told me everything looked fine, though they did mention: "Oh, by the way, your colon looks a little inflamed—that's just because you eat too fast" (on the right side). It's been four months since that appointment, and usually, it doesn't bother me at all, but now... I'm starting to feel it again...
has anyone else gone through something similar???🙏

Regarding health matters, one must acknowledge that an intestinal issue is certainly not a gynecological concern...

Thickening of the intestinal wall actually has nothing to do with how fast you eat 😕—it’s typically an indicator of things like inflammatory bowel disease or similar conditions.

Ultrasound isn't really the gold standard for evaluating the intestinal wall; besides, a gynecologist is specifically trained in OB-GYN ultrasounds, not in analyzing other abdominal or pelvic organs.

If you're concerned about potential gut issues, my advice is to go see a gastroenterologist—they'll be able to order the right tests and get you the proper care you need.

thanks for the reply..
is that actually dangerous???🙏👎👎
it doesn't really hurt, I just kind of feel it every once in a while
my doctor actually told me that the ultrasound shows some thickening, and she thinks it’s because of my diet—basically because I eat way too fast and can't digest things properly. so, I started trying to slow down while I eat, and honestly, I haven't felt it at all for two months now...

Just to set the record straight, he didn't say it was thickened, he said the tube was inflated

Then you really have nothing to worry about 😁

There’s always a bit of air in the digestive tract—it's just how things work. It all depends on what you've been eating, and even how fast you eat; sometimes people rush through a meal and end up swallowing quite a bit of air in the process.
He was likely referring to the fact that intestinal gas can interfere with the clarity of an ultrasound scan—rather than suggesting there's some sort of underlying medical disorder.
