Following the topic, which led absolutely nowhere and only served to highlight some blatant moderation bias, we have yet another round of nonsense from moderator mistybear87.

First, a red card for an alleged "attempted coup."

Then, a red card for "insulting forum members":

The first instance is frankly ridiculous. Even the moderator likely realized it, considering the points expired almost immediately. So, the moderator's ego is satisfied—he handed out a card. I can't explain it any other way.

As for the second case, what is there to say? 🤦
What kind of insult was that?

Not a single user perceived that post as an insult; in fact, it actually sparked a brief discussion about the image itself.

Except, of course, for the moderator, who decided—for reasons known only to God—that the post was offensive.

Regarding the first card: I ask that the moderator sticks to his own business in the future and stops involving me in these little games. 🙄

Regarding the second card: I would like it removed.

Thanks.

The moderator, mistybear87, was notified about this thread on the same day. I assume the admins and supermods have seen it by now, too.

Still no response. Meanwhile, those 45 useless points are just sitting there on my account.

It’s time to fix this. To the staff: please clear that last warning from my record.

Thanks! 🙂

No way in hell
you really ought to consider whether that partial ban was handed down just so he could go out of his way to bait the moderators

Could you provide some clarification on that?

Calling a "coup attempt" an insult? And quoting someone else's post just counts as harassment now?

Pure stupidity. I even got handed a warning card just to mock Williams—which is hilarious, considering the moderator who flagged me is a massive fan of their team.

hollowtrucker77 said:Have you considered if that partial ban was actually intended to bait the moderator?

Who’s trying to pick a fight with the moderator now?

The last few bans from that moderator have been a joke. Completely baseless. It’s pretty obvious he just can't stand me—what's his deal? ☕

If they have some sort of deep-seated frustration or an inferiority complex, they should really take that up with someone else. Why bother dragging everyone else into it? 🙂

I just expect the rules to be applied consistently across all the forums. Isn't that how it should work? Because on Formula 1, that's clearly not the case. 👎

And naturally, I feel I'm owed an explanation. Why exactly did I walk away with two red cards and a measly 99 points?

So, here's the deal. It’s honestly kind of tragicomic that my last few bans have actually set a precedent on the Formula 1 subforum.

And besides, the fact that the moderator hasn't said a word? That's enough of an indicator right there.

Look, nobody is forcing you to post in the Formula 1 section☕
Besides, looking at your eighty-seven posts where you claim "I'm enjoying myself here," what you just said is a total contradiction, so you might want to pick a side

But alright, let's not have you sulking anymore

For that attempted coup, you were slapped with xy points over the course of exactly one hour right after you went and dubbed yourself the "honorary moderator of the Formula 1 subforum." If you can't take a joke, honestly, who can I blame? If I actually wanted to punish you, you'd be banned—which is usually what happens to people attempting a coup in movies

As for the insults, you know perfectly well why you got a warning, so don't play the innocent victim☕

Mocking Williams? I don't see any warning like that on your record, at least not within the last two years☕

Not provoking? Save that talk for your mom back home. You jump at every single chance to twist my posts into something negative or offensive, all while claiming "you enjoy this"👎

I'm not sure which one of us is the frustrated one here, but I know that when it comes to you, I couldn't care less; you really don't move the needle for me😉

And just so I don't have to repeat myself (though it's clearly laid out in the community guidelines—but perhaps you skipped those lessons in reading comprehension...), you were allowed back into the Formula 1 section on the condition that you calm down and stop causing trouble. Since day one, you've broken our agreement, and instead of being grateful for how tolerant I've been, you keep doing things your own way. Just a heads up: everyone's patience has its limits.

So, when a moderator is just messing around, they expect everyone else to take it as a joke. But the second you push back on a chat topic? Suddenly you’re getting a warning. Where's the consistency? Where's the objectivity? 🙏

mistybear87 said:If I actually wanted to punish you, you’d be banned. Just like how an attempted coup usually ends with a bullet to the head.

A mindless comparison, and a pretty desperate attempt at a distraction. 👎

mistybear87 said:You know exactly why you got flagged for being abusive. Don't play the innocent victim here. ☕

Only you could pinpoint why that was an insult—just like it happened in several previous rounds.

mistybear87 said:Making fun of Williams? I don't see any red cards like that on your list—not in at least the last two years. ☕

Is it alright if I post a screenshot of your private message where you explain how "trash-talking Williams" is actually the reason for the red card? 😉

mistybear87 said:You’ve been breaking our agreement since day one. Instead of being grateful for my patience, you just keep doing whatever you want. Just a heads up—everyone has their limit.

I'm acting out?
Where exactly?

In the off-topic/spam thread. 🙏

Compared to how your real-life buddies constantly start "standard" threads without any moderation😍, I'm practically a saint. 🙏

Bottom line—you haven't given me a single reason to justify those warnings.

PS—I actually enjoy it over there. ☕🙏

Jason Campbell70 said:Would you be okay with me posting a screenshot of your own private message? You know, the one where you explain how "trash-talking Williams" is actually the reason for the penalty? 😉

And then, nothing. Not a single trace left behind. 😉

And I’d also like to ask the moderator: what's the reasoning behind this next warning?
I can't say I agree with what Jason Campbell70 was getting at there. Is it really that simple? To me, it feels like we're overcomplicating things. Why focus on one specific angle when the whole picture is much more nuanced? It’s worth stepping back and looking at the broader context before jumping to conclusions. What do you all think?

If I really wanted to, I could probably find at least a hundred unmoderated posts on this exact same thread that follow the same pattern—you know, just a single lonely smiley face.

Since there isn't a legitimate reason for this—unless we're talking about the moderator's personal feelings?—I’d like to request that my disputed warning be cleared from my record.

Thanks!

As far as the Prime Minister goes, just do whatever you feel is right.

Regarding that yellow card, using a smiley face with crap on it and calling it a "fly" is clearly just trolling and trying to bait everyone else in this discussion.☕

Rest assured, you won't be getting a yellow card from me ever again—you'll be going straight to a red. No need to thank me.☕

mistybear87 said:As far as the Prime Minister is concerned, he can do whatever he wants.

So, I see this as a green light to post what the Prime Minister said. I'm going to use it to prove the moderator was lying just to cover their own tracks.

I hope the admins don't mind.

mistybear87 said:Regarding that yellow card business—that little poop emoji with the fly buzzing around it? It’s pretty obvious trolling. Just a blatant attempt to provoke everyone else in this thread. ☕

My little smiley isn't any more malicious than that massive pile of emojis being dumped in this thread. Honestly, how did this even become a spam/off-topic mess?
It’s not even more malicious than that "coffee" you mentioned at the end of your quote. Actually, it's worse.

Another thing—who exactly was I even debating? And with which "participants" in this supposed discussion?

Third point—labeling something as off-topic or spam is essentially an insult to the community. I don't see it that way. Shouldn't you know better? Or at least, shouldn't that be what's expected of you?

I’d like to get the admins' take on this. Any thoughts?

It’s pretty obvious now what we're actually dealing with.

The moderator handling this thread keeps digging up these ridiculous excuses just to hand out warnings. It’s gone from "attempted coup" to supposedly "insulting other users," and now we’re down to the latest nonsense: "off-topic" or "spam." And the absolute peak of stupidity? Getting flagged for criticizing Williams. Seriously?

Look, mistybear87, if you think everything I say is a personal attack on you, that’s your own issue to deal with.

If you see my comments as a personal attack on you, mistybear87, then that’s your issue, not mine.

If you take a look... One of the previous pages on this thread. He thinks it doesn't even matter that I directed my previous post toward the moderator. Does he?

Same debate, just as harmless.

Where did the moderator hide the rule about harassment? I can't find it anywhere.

Should I have told him he was cool? Maybe. 🙏

So, you think a warning is acceptable?

EDIT - To clarify—am I not allowed to tell a moderator "that's not cool" in the chat thread?

So, in your eyes, a warning is perfectly acceptable?

EDIT - Or rather, just to clarify my point—is it against the rules to tell a moderator "that's not cool" in a general discussion thread?

Let me give you my take on this.

It doesn't really matter what the topic is or who we're talking about. If someone feels targeted, insulted, or just generally disrespected, they can report the post and ask for action, and then measures will be taken. It won't always result in a formal strike, but it certainly can. That's just the fundamentals of online moderation.☕

If a post is aimed directly at me and I feel singled out or insulted, I’m going to step in. It might not always lead to a penalty, but it could.

if a post is aimed at me and I feel called out or insulted, I'll take action. It might result in a strike, maybe it won't. But it's an option.

☕

Saying "mistybear87 isn't cool" isn't an insult by any reasonable standard. 😁
I could have said the exact same thing to anyone else in this thread (and in some cases, I did). 😁

So? 🤷

Especially since you were the one who claimed this chat topic was "a bit more relaxed" than the other threads in this section.

Reaching for a moderator intervention seems pretty contradictory to your own stance of "if you can't handle a joke, that's on you."

I could have easily directed that sentiment toward anyone else involved in this thread (and frankly, I have with a few people). 😁

So what? 🤷

Especially since you were the one who suggested this specific chat thread was supposed to be "a bit more relaxed" than the others here.

Trying to play the victim feels a little hypocritical when you’re simultaneously preaching the idea that if someone can't take a joke, that's on them.

Look, I've made my peace with what I said; feel free to carry on however you like. 👋

"Actions speak for themselves"—right, while they look the other way every single time.
And you're still whining about nonsense and constantly poking the bear. It's not like he's the only one you target when you're on a mission, yet somehow you always get a free pass.

You’re acting like you’re about to get banned for everything and that the mod is just waiting to pull the trigger.

Total 100 potential points

Honestly, you could have easily racked up four warnings for trolling, spamming, going off-topic, or insulting users. You'd be posting over at Kaiser Permanente instead of here.

You could hit 100 potential points in just three hours without anyone questioning if the warnings were deserved.
And you? You’d definitely complain about the criteria 100% of the time.

This isn't that "relaxed" chat thread. Sure, it’s not strictly professional,😬 but it's still not just a casual chat room either.
But hey, whenever you go looking for strict rule enforcement, you usually find it—and it’s almost never what you actually wanted.

Most of us post stuff that looks somewhat similar, but nothing quite like yours, back-to-back.
Most of this is just us messing around with each other, and I'm not sure Joe even takes it that seriously.

To be honest, Seth is way too lenient with all of us on this forum, including you sometimes.
With a bunch of other mods around, half the rules in the handbook would probably be ignored at Kaiser Permanente without a single word.

It’s especially bad here after certain races with all the stupid drama, like:
the RB crash in Turkey, the Button-Hamilton showdown, Hamilton overtaking the SC, or Alonso getting penalized in the United Kingdom.
And suddenly there’s a mountain of posts right on the edge of breaking the rules, yet it always ends with just a few warnings, a lecture, and a locked thread—but 95% of the time, nobody gets banned.

Which, of course, just cools things down—unless someone keeps pushing their luck after a warning.
Personally, I think this is the best way to moderate. It teaches everyone self-control, and most people here know when to stop being idiots and actually do it.
If we took the opposite approach—mass bans and Kaiser Permanente being flooded with useless threads—most people would just get even more pissed off.

Look at my buddy as the perfect example. In the last year, he’s been quiet as a mouse here, totally within the lines and nowhere near a ban.
Meanwhile, on the sports forums, he goes absolutely feral like he's been stung by a swarm of wasps—literally a completely different person and someone who deserves a permanent ban for anything else.

If you were on the F1 side of the forum dealing with politics or sports and kept poking people like this, you'd be facing a ban at least two or three times a month.

Be glad the rules are what they are. Try poking people less and maybe get a reality check.😉
