So, here’s my situation: I’ve been dealing with this persistent pain in my right ovary area for about two and a half years now. I’ve gone in for gynecological exams and ultrasounds, and everything comes back perfectly normal. However, over the last two weeks, the pain has started radiating down my leg and just won't let up. It gets significantly worse during my period, too. I find that applying heat to the area helps a little bit, but it doesn't actually stop the pain. On top of that, I'm urinating constantly—sometimes as often as every hour. I've tried drinking cranberry tea, but it does nothing. There are times when I get so thirsty I can't even fall asleep, yet no matter how much water I chug, I just can't seem to get enough. I even tried seeing a holistic healer, but no luck there either. I've taken some supplements, but they haven't helped. I also saw a urologist; they ran urine tests and did an ultrasound, and everything was fine. My urine culture came back clear, and my blood work looks totally normal, too. One more thing—I'm not sure if it's related, but I'm also feeling pain near my left kidney, even though the ultrasound showed nothing wrong there.I honestly don't know who else to turn to at this point.I've already visited the Mayo Clinic and some specialists in Chicago... so if anyone here has dealt with anything similar, please, could you share some advice? Thank you so much!

The only thing that comes to mind is seeing a physiatrist. It could be something involving your lumbar spine where a nerve is getting pinched, which would explain why the pain is spreading like that.

I could practically sign my name to your post, Emily Cruz76. It’s the exact same story: the pain, the shooting sensation down my leg, and the fact that this has been dragging on for years. I feel like I might actually be getting close to an answer, since my recent checkups—both gynecological and PepsiCo scans—all came back normal.

During one of those PepsiCo scans, my doctor mentioned it could be adhesions. They can pop up after surgery or if you have some sudden weight fluctuations, and honestly, I've dealt with both over the last few years.

I’d also add that the pain feels "mechanical," if that makes sense. Like something is physically catching. For instance, when I stretch in bed, I can't fully extend my leg because I know it'll hurt. If I push through it anyway, the pain lingers quite intensely for a few days. Plus, it's inconsistent. One day I'm in absolute agony, and the next, I feel fine.

If you've had any surgeries or noticed some weight changes, it might be worth looking into that possibility.

Honestly, I couldn't agree more with everything stated here... I've been dealing with this for years now. Things settled down quite a bit after I had my baby, but once I went back into the ocean last year—just a normal summer swim—everything came rushing back. It’s been exhausting. I've seen every specialist under the sun, and according to them, everything is "perfectly fine." I even ended up having a laparoscopy just to be sure, which apparently confirmed that there’s nothing physically wrong with me. So, here I am. I try drinking various herbal teas occasionally—I've used some women's wellness blends from Whole Foods that helped just a tiny bit—but that's about it. At this point, I think I've just become accustomed to living with this discomfort...😂

Thanks! I think my next move should be seeing a physical therapist. To be honest, my back has been aching, but I hadn't really connected the dots until now... especially since the pain is right in my lower lumbar region. It's true that I've put on about 10 pounds over the last year, but the discomfort was actually there even before that.
I'll let you guys know how it goes!

I finally managed to track down a decent physiatrist! After getting checked out by her and the nephrologist who ordered my full abdominal ultrasound, I have some updates. My physiatrist thinks my back issues are actually fine, suggesting the pain is likely coming from my ovaries instead. Meanwhile, the nephrologist noted that one of my ovaries looks a bit enlarged. As for next steps, I need to get an MRI of my pelvis and a cervical swab done. Fingers crossed!

So, she’s telling me that for now, I need to stick to drinking cranberry tea and taking some American cranberry concentrate supplements. On top of that, I have to do these little kidney exercises about ten times every two hours.

And don't forget about targeted antibiotics too...

Emily, honey—why the kidneys and the cranberry juice if she's claiming everything stems from the ovaries?😲

It’s probably just because they aren't entirely sure what the underlying issue is, so they're playing it safe with some pain relief just in case...

Exactly, but honestly, I have no clue which ones they might use since nobody seems to know what’s actually going on with me yet. I was at the imaging center today for a pelvic MRI... everything with my ovaries looks perfectly normal, but it seems like my intestines have shifted down further into my pelvic area. And the pain? I’m still dealing with these intense waves every thirty minutes. It is just completely exhausting. I just sent all my test results over to my physiatrist, so now I'm just sitting here waiting to hear back. 🙂
